Oxford University Press is looking for an experienced and commercially driven Senior Area Manager, Sales to lead business growth across North Bengal and Sikkim. The position provides exposure to sales planning, team leadership, customer relationship management, forecasting, collections management, and business expansion initiatives. It is an ideal opportunity for an individual seeking a broader leadership role with significant ownership and visibility.

As Senior Area Manager, Sales, you will serve as a central regional contact representing School Education Sales across North Bengal and Sikkim.

Key responsibilities
  • Developing and implementing sales strategies to drive demand fulfilment for School Education products across the region.
  • Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities to expand market presence and revenue growth.
  • Driving collections within stipulated timelines to improve DSO and ensure uninterrupted business operations.
  • Managing relationships with wholesalers, retailers, distributors, schools, and other key stakeholders.
  • Ensuring accurate demand forecasting and stock availability across the territory for efficient supply chain management.
  • Planning and executing promotional activities to maximize revenue and market penetration.
  • Managing budgets related to gratis materials and promotional activities effectively.
  • Monitoring market developments, competitor activity, and customer trends, and providing actionable insights to management.
  • Building, coaching, and developing high-performing sales teams with strong capabilities in product knowledge, sales execution, account management, supply chain coordination, and collections.
  • Allocating territories, setting sales budgets and targets, and ensuring effective resource utilization.
  • Monitoring team productivity and performance against agreed business objectives.
  • Maintaining and enhancing the reputation of Oxford University Press by demonstrating the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and business ethics.
