Softdel is seeking a highly experienced Senior Technical Architect (Embedded Systems) to lead the design, architecture, and development of complex embedded software systems across Industrial Automation, IoT, Energy Management, Smart Buildings, and connected devices domains. The ideal candidate will define scalable architectures, guide engineering teams, and ensure high-quality delivery aligned with industry standards including MISRA C/C++, CERT C/C++, industrial functional safety, and secure coding practices.This role requires strong technical leadership, customer-facing communication, solution definition, mentoring capabilities, and deep embedded expertise in embedded bare-metal firmware, RTOS, Linux-based systems, connectivity protocols, cybersecurity, cloud communication, and system architecture.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and own the end-to-end embedded system architecture (software + hardware integration).
• Design scalable, modular, and maintainable embedded solutions for real-time systems.
• Evaluate and select RTOS, middleware, communication stacks, and platform components.
• Lead architecture reviews and ensure alignment with product and business requirements.
• Mentor engineers and review design/code to ensure adherence to best practices.
• Drive reusable modules/frameworks, platform standardization, and toolchain improvements.
• Support pre-sales activities, estimations, and technical proposals.
• Participate in customer discussions and requirement analysis.
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong experience with microcontrollers and processors - ARM Cortex and MPU-based systems (e.g. NXP, TI, Renesas, STM, Microchip, SiLab).
• Deep understanding of RTOS (e.g. FreeRTOS, Zephyr).
• Deep understanding of Linux kernel services, device drivers, BSP development, Buildroot, Systemd, containers, etc.
• Strong expertise in firmware architecture patterns (layered, event-driven, etc.) and design patterns (Singleton, Adapter, Facade, State, etc.).
• Strong expertise in Embedded C/C++, Python, and Shell scripts.
• Strong experience with embedded communication stacks (e.g. CAN, TCP/IP, BLE, Wi-Fi, Zigbee, Ethernet, Matter, Thread, LoRaWAN, etc.).
• Deep understanding of networking and secure communication protocols (e.g. HTTPS, MQTT, TLS, CoAP, Modbus, BACnet, OPC-UA, CANopen, DALI 2.0, etc.).
• Strong expertise in design and development of Yocto Linux-based embedded platforms.
• Hands-on experience in design and development of OTA system upgrades.
• Hands-on experience in designing secure boot, certificate management, and encryption frameworks.
• Strong proficiency in debugging tools like JTAG, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
• Hands-on experience with static analysis and vulnerability scan tools (e.g. Klocwork, Mend).
• Hands-on experience with build systems (CMake, Make) and version control (Git).
• Preferred knowledge of functional safety standard (IEC 61508).
• Familiarity with cloud connectivity (AWS IoT, Azure IoT, etc.).
• Familiarity with unit testing frameworks (e.g. Ceedling, Unity, CppUTest, GTest).
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Effective communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
