Job summary

Tech Mahindra in Bengaluru is seeking an experienced Android engineer to design and build scalable Android applications. You will work on architecture, code quality, and integration with native modules using C++ within a telecom domain environment, contributing to multi-module projects and CI/CD pipelines.

The role requires strong Kotlin/Java skills, experience with Android SDK/NDK, and a solid understanding of design patterns and Clean Architecture principles.

• Extensive hands-on experience in Android application development using Kotlin and Core Java.
• Solid understanding of the Telecom wireless domain, including 4G and 5G technologies.

• Proven experience applying design patterns in large-scale, production Android applications.
• Expertise in Clean Architecture principles and modular application design.
• Hands-on experience with dependency injection frameworks such as Hilt, Dagger, or Koin.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with focus on scalable, maintainable, high-quality code.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Development Practices & Tools

• Strong experience with Git for source code management
• Proficient in using JIRA for task tracking and Agile project management
• Experience working in Agile / Scrum development environments
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with a strong focus on writing scalable, maintainable, and high-quality code

Nice to Have / Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with JNI and C++ integration in Android applications
• Experience with performance optimization, memory management, and multi-threading
• Knowledge of unit testing, instrumentation testing, and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience integrating third-party applications and SDKs (e.g., WhatsApp, Facebook)
• Experience in analyzing, handling, and resolving customer support tickets directly
• Hands-on experience with multi-module Android projects
• Strong understanding of Android build variants, backward compatibility, and SDK version implications
• Added advantage if experienced with Android Telephony and Telecom APIs
• Added advantage if experienced in Android app integration with cloud platforms or external software systems
