• Minimum 5-6 years of experience working on software contracts (SaaS, Cloud & Data Center contracts) with passion for technology and a good understanding of software technology market knowledge
• Minimum 3-4 Years Of Global Sourcing Experience
• Minimum 4 years demonstrated track record of people management leadership experience is required
• Minimum 2-3 years of sourcing transformation experience (e.g., significant prior experience in all elements of sourcing and category management)
• Certification in Procurement such as PMP/CPSM/CSCP, preferred

Responsibilities

• Execute the category strategy for assigned category, collaborating with key stakeholders, team members, and leaders affected by the respective category
• Develop RFx opportunities for software contracts and provide input to the Category Performance framework and provide metrics related to category performance and continuously track & monitor
• Populate the category cards detailing overall category strategies, preferred suppliers, and business unit requirements for execution; execute to ensure category health is tracking per strategy/goals/plan
• Identify areas of opportunity to reduce waste and establish reduction targets; Identify and execute implementation of continuous improvement/cost
• Establishing strong relationships with internal business partners; building a robust understanding of strategic business direction, requirements and priorities across assigned suppliers and/or spend categories; Rationalize specification
• Execute the fundamentals of sourcing and supplier engagement activities including RFx, spend pattern analysis, contract analysis, bid evaluation, negotiations, and supplier consolidation.
• Providing guidance to internal stakeholders on procurement strategies; maintain sourcing ethics in accordance with News Corp’s global policies & methodologies
• Work with senior cross-functional internal customers as well as the Business Sourcing Partner to define detailed business requirements with designated business units, prioritizing business requirements and taking them through approval process
• Execute change management within designated business units to increase utilization of best practices sourcing and procurement solutions
• Assists the Business Sourcing Partner in business unit capacity and demand planning forecasting customer business unit demand

Accountabilities

Vendor Management (Evaluation, Negotiation, Selection, Qualification)

• Support the evaluation, negotiation, selection and qualification of vendors
• Support the negotiation of contracts with selected suppliers leveraging tools/technology or supplier contract template especially the following: Software as a Service (SaaS) and Cloud Computing agreements, comprehensive Master Services Agreements, Master License and Service Agreement, Statement of Work,
• Amendments, etc. and negotiation of global preferred supplier agreements, following the legal guidelines.
• Execute SOWs of complex and strategic nature through creation to approval
• Manage escalations to the legal department appropriately, as needed
• Partner with the contract management team regularly

Critical Experiences | Competencies | Abilities

• Bachelor of Arts or Sciences Degree or equivalent experience required, MBA is a plus

• Strong project management skills, including adhering to stakeholder timelines, and meeting management skills
• Extensive knowledge of the basic types of commercial agreement structures and the function and purpose of key legal terms.
• Experience working in a large, global, highly matrixed organization, and works easily in multi-business unit project settings; able to facilitate teamwork across corporate boundaries.
• Contract drafting experience as well as excellent understanding of contractual terms, both commercially and legally.
