• Scrutinize user stories and specs in Jira to establish robust success criteria for each ticket.
• Develop and maintain end-to-end test plans for user journeys from login to logout.
• Explain test results clearly and uphold quality standards.
• Operate within team processes and suggest improvements to testing workflows.
• Work effectively across multiple time zones with limited oversight.

Overview

Gallagher Center of Excellence is seeking a QA Engineer who is instrumental in ensuring the team delivers commercially viable, consumer-grade digital solutions to our clients and their end users. With a passion for creating seamless digital experiences you will act as the primary safeguard for our digital quality, rigorously testing output to verify that it functions and appears as intended before any release to CST or the client. This position involves you to be responsible for the day-to-day execution of testing scripts, validation of developer unit tests, and creation of clear, user journey-based test plans. You will be executing critical delivery tasks across multiple projects, ensuring the success of client deliveries, and maintaining consumer-grade standards in all outputs. Along with the wider digital team, you will operate in a fast-paced environment handling numerous daily deliverables across multiple projects.

How you'll make an impact

Responsibilities:

• Execute rigorous manual and automated tests, providing timely, accurate, and objective pass/fail telemetry to the Digital Project Manager.
• Support the development team by reviewing and aggregating unit testing results, ensuring core code logic is strictly verified before functional testing begins.
• Maintain an exceptionally high standard of documentation within Jira and Confluence, ensuring bug reports are clear, reproducible, and actionable.
• Scrutinize user stories and functional specifications in Jira to fully understand and establish robust success criteria for every ticket.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive test plans that move beyond individual features to validate end-to-end user journeys (e.g. from login to logout).
• Confidently explain test results and hold the line on quality.
• Operate within established team processes and suggest improvements to testing workflows and quality standards, where required.
• Operate effectively independently across multiple time zones without needing constant oversight.
• Confidently priorities clashing tasks and manage your time effectively, even when decisions are time-critical and conflicting.
