Job summary

Gallagher in India is seeking a Senior Analyst – Pro Rata Handler to join our Reinsurance Servicing team in Mumbai. You will manage proportional treaty accounting and servicing activities in line with contracts, processes, and service standards.

You will analyze bordereaux, support renewal and servicing information, and interact with clients and reinsurers. The role requires strong Excel skills and solid knowledge of treaty concepts, with a focus on accuracy and timely issue resolution.

Qualifications

• Experience in Insurance/Reinsurance Operations.
• Hands-on exposure to Proportional Treaty (Pro Rata) servicing/accounting.
• Experience managing client portfolios and stakeholder interactions.
• Understanding of treaty accounting, bordereaux processing, and post-placement servicing.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret technical proportional treaty documentation and bordereaux received from clients.
• Process and manage treaty accounting activities in line with contractual conditions and operational procedures.
• Independently handle client, reinsurer, and claims-related queries, ensuring timely resolution and escalation where required.
• Review and maintain operational and financial reports, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Support Account Managers, Client Service Advocates, and Placing Teams with renewal and servicing information.
• Monitor outstanding balances, bureau debt, and uncorrelated cash positions, driving timely resolution.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, company policies, and industry best practices.
• Deliver against established SLA, quality, turnaround time (TAT), and productivity targets.

About you

What We’re Looking For:

Experience-

• Relevant experience in Insurance/Reinsurance Operations
• Hands-on exposure to Proportional Treaty (Pro Rata) servicing/accounting
• Experience managing client portfolios and stakeholder interactions
• Understanding of treaty accounting, bordereaux processing, and post-placement servicing activities

Technical Knowledge-

• Strong understanding of Reinsurance concepts and treaty documentation
• Awareness of accounting fundamentals (debits, credits, settlements, reconciliations)
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and MS Office applications
