Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting; Master’s degree a plus.
  • 2–4 years of accounting experience (Associate).
  • Experience with Hedge Funds, Investment Management or Financial Services preferred.
  • Investor accounting experience is an added advantage.
  • Excellent English skills, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly fund and business entity closing summaries.
  • Prepare investor allocations and PnL distributions.
  • Calculate Incentive and Management Fees.
  • Work on Hedge funds and private equities.
  • Prepare investor statements for distribution.
  • Knowledge of Equity, Derivatives, IPOs, etc.
  • Prepare financial highlights and shareholder statements quarterly/annually.
  • Streamline and automate reporting processes with technology.
  • Documentation and training for new hires; escalate issues when needed.

Hedge fund services- Senior Analyst

Role

The job requires working for a Global Hedge Fund Administrator, specializing in administering assets of complex hedge funds. This individual will have a strong Technical and Accounting background, experience working within the Financial Services industry. This position involves working with Investor Accounting team.

Major DuTIES
  • Preparation of monthly fund and business entity closing summaries for Fund Administrator
  • Preparation of investor allocation/PnL distribution to the investors
  • Calculation of Incentive Fee and Management Fee
  • Working on Hedge funds and private equities
  • Investor statements preparation and distribution
  • Knowledge of financial products like, Equity, Derivative instruments, IPO, etc.
  • Prepare financial highlights and shareholders statements on quarterly/annual basis.
  • Consistently look to streamline and automate the reporting/analytical process with the use of technology
  • Process documentation and training to new hires.
  • Escalate issues that fall outside normal resolution timeframe
ACCountabilities
  • Employees are required to comply with the regulatory regime in which Northern Trust operates as appropriate to the above role
  • Employees are expected to exercise due care and diligence, ensuring the areas, the incumbent is responsible for, are organised and controlled
  • Employees are required to observe proper standards of market, business and personal conduct, demonstrating integrity in the execution of duties
  • Reports to TL/ Section Manager
Skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to function independently in a fast-paced, dynamic and demanding environment
  • Good understanding of the basic accounting principles and procedures, familiarity with the Financial markets and instruments
  • Strong problem solving skills, detailed and results oriented.
  • Ability to evaluate priority and multi-task with minimal supervision
  • Excellent spoken and written English and the ability to write Business correspondence
  • Proficiency in MS Office (particularly Excel and Word)
  • Ability to address internal and external audiences in a professional manner
  • Ability to work effectively with project teams and clients
  • Demonstrate high ethical standards
  • Time management skills
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in Accounting, Master degree a plus
  • A minimum of 2-4 years of Accounting experience (Associate)
  • Experience with Hedge Funds, Investment Management and/or Financial Services strongly preferred
  • Experience of Investor accounting will be an added advantage
  • Excellent English, grammar, written and oral communication skills
