IC Resources in Bengaluru, India, seeks a Staff Analog IC Design Engineer to lead the analog front-end for a photonic compute chip. You'll report to the Director of Analog and collaborate with the CTO, founder, and UK team, delivering from architecture through tape-out.
The role demands 8–10+ years in mixed-signal IC design on advanced CMOS, with at least one tape-out led to silicon, and strength in data converters or photonic-adjacent drivers.
Staff Analog IC Design Engineer Data Converters & Photonic Drivers
We have partnered with a UK photonic computing company that is building its Indian operation in Bangalore and hiring its founding analog team.
The technology is real and the company is beyond proof of concpet. Working silicon, multiple tape-outs.
This is the lead analog hire. You'll report directly to the Director of Analog, with regular collaboration with the CTO, the founder and the UK photonics team.
Designing the precision mixed signal layer that sits between the photonic compute core and the rest of the chip.
ADC and DAC design, references, biasing, LDOs. Heater drivers and precision current sources for thermal tuning of photonic components. Modulator drivers. Full design cycle from architecture through tape-out and silicon validation. Advanced CMOS node.
8-10+ years of mixed-signal IC design experience in advanced CMOS, with at least one tape-out you led from concept through silicon. Strong on either data converters or photonic-adjacent driver design. Cadence Virtuoso, Spectre and AMS verification methodology. MEng, MSc or PhD in electronic engineering or equivalent.
Critically, the hiring manager is looking for a generalist, not a specialist. If your career has shown breadth across multiple analog and mixed-signal blocks rather than depth in a single one, that's the profile.
Silicon photonics adjacency. Optical SerDes, coherent receivers, modulator or laser driver design. Background at Lightmatter, Ayar Labs, Celestial AI, Intel silicon photonics, Marvell Inphi, Cisco Acacia, Nvidia optical group, or Broadcom high-speed SerDes.
