Job summary

Persistent Systems is seeking a Senior AI/ML & MLOps Architect to design and scale enterprise‑grade AI platforms on AWS. The role emphasizes SageMaker, MLOps, model lifecycle management, and production ML operations across Generative AI, LLM, and RAG initiatives.

You will lead AI platform modernization, build scalable AI solutions, mentor teams, and drive cost efficiency while collaborating with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 8–12 years of experience in Data/AI engineering, platform or cloud architecture.
• Deep hands-on AWS SageMaker experience mandatory.
• Strong experience with AWS Bedrock, EKS, Lambda, S3, Glue, CloudWatch.
• Expertise in ML model development workflows and tooling.
• Hands-on Docker, Kubernetes, containerization, orchestration.
• Experience with CI/CD, Continuous Training and IaC.

About Position

We are looking for an experienced AI/ML & MLOps Architect to design and scale enterprise‑grade AI platforms on AWS. The role focuses on AWS SageMaker, MLOps, model lifecycle management, cloud-native architecture, and production ML operations. You will lead AI platform modernization while enabling scalable ML, Generative AI, LLM, and RAG solutions across the enterprise.

What You’ll Do

• Architect and implement end-to-end AI/ML and MLOps platforms covering model development, training, deployment, monitoring, governance, and retraining.
• Design scalable model serving architectures supporting high availability, resilience, security, and cost optimization.
• Lead MLOps transformation initiatives and establish enterprise AI engineering best practices.
• Build and manage ML pipelines using AWS SageMaker and related AWS AI/ML services.
• Design and implement CI/CD and CT (Continuous Training) pipelines for machine learning workloads.
• Develop solutions for model monitoring, observability, drift detection, performance tracking, and automated retraining.
• Architect cloud-native AI solutions leveraging AWS services including SageMaker, Bedrock, EKS, Lambda, S3, Glue, and CloudWatch.
• Support Generative AI, LLM, and RAG‑based application development initiatives.
• Design scalable vector search architectures and AI knowledge retrieval solutions.
• Establish governance frameworks for model lifecycle management, compliance, security, explainability, and responsible AI.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, data scientists, engineers, and leadership teams to define AI platform roadmaps.
• Mentor engineering teams on AI engineering, MLOps, platform architecture, and cloud‑native development.
• Drive performance optimization, cost efficiency, and operational excellence across AI platforms.

Expertise You’ll Bring

• 8-12 years of experience in Data Engineering, AI/ML Engineering, Platform Engineering, or Cloud Architecture.
• Deep hands‑on expertise with AWS SageMaker (mandatory/deal‑breaker skill).
• Strong experience with AWS Bedrock, EKS, Lambda, S3, Glue, CloudWatch, IAM, and other AWS services.
• Expertise designing and deploying scalable MLOps platforms and machine learning infrastructure.
• Strong experience with Python, PyTorch, machine learning frameworks, and model development workflows.
• Hands‑on expertise with Docker, Kubernetes, containerization, and orchestration technologies.
• Experience implementing CI/CD, Continuous Training (CT), and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.
• Strong knowledge of model deployment, model serving, monitoring, observability, and governance frameworks.
• Experience with model drift detection, model evaluation, retraining strategies, and production ML operations.
• Understanding of Generative AI, LLMs, Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG), embeddings, and vector databases.
• Experience designing cloud‑native, scalable, and resilient AI architectures.
• Strong stakeholder management, leadership, communication, and mentoring skills.
• Proven ability to drive large‑scale AI transformation and platform modernization initiatives.
