Job summary

Rumor is seeking a Senior Full Stack AI Engineer in Mohali to build a new AI product from the ground up. This is a hands-on role where you will code daily, work closely with leadership, and mentor a small team of engineers.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years of software development experience with Python, PostgreSQL, React and TypeScript, plus strong AI/LLM development knowledge. You will design, implement, and monitor production systems, and drive key architectural decisions.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software development experience.
• 1–2+ years building and supporting AI/LLM features in production.
• Strong experience with Python and backend API development.
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL, database design, SQL, indexing, and performance tuning.
• Good experience with React and TypeScript.
• Deep understanding of LLMs, prompts, tool calls, retries, rate limits, and handling errors.
• Experience using AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Copilot.
• Experience leading or mentoring developers while continuing to code hands-on.
• Experience supporting production apps, including monitoring and incident handling.
• Strong written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Build the AI agent backend using Python and FastAPI.
• Work with LLMs, including prompts, tool/function calling, and structured outputs.
• Design and maintain PostgreSQL databases, queries, indexes, and migrations.
• Build user interfaces using React and TypeScript.

Required Skills

• 1–2+ years of experience building and supporting AI/LLM features in production.


• Strong experience with Python and backend API development.


• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL, database design, SQL, indexing, and performance tuning.


• Good experience with React and TypeScript.


• Strong understanding of LLMs, prompt design, tool/function calling, retries, rate limits, and handling incorrect AI responses.


• Experience using AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Copilot.


• Experience leading or mentoring developers while continuing to code hands‑on.


• Experience supporting production applications, including monitoring, incident handling, and root‑cause analysis.


• Good written and spoken English.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with RAG, embeddings, and pgvector.


• Experience with LangGraph, Claude Agent SDK, or MCP.


• Experience with LLM testing, monitoring, and cost management.


• Knowledge of Microsoft Azure, Docker, and CI/CD.
