Job summary

AHEAD is seeking a Windows Server Administrator with SCCM and Tanium expertise to manage enterprise server infrastructure. You will deploy patches, automate software delivery, and maintain OS deployment pipelines while ensuring system security and compliance.

The role requires 5–7 years of hands-on experience, strong scripting skills in PowerShell, and familiarity with AD, DNS, DHCP, and GPOs. This is a full-time on-site position based in India.

Qualifications

• Graduate with 5–7 years’ experience in Windows Server management and SCCM/Tanium.
• Hands-on in large enterprise environments and patching processes.
• Proficient in PowerShell scripting for automation and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain MECM/SCCM infrastructure including site servers and distribution points.
• Develop and implement patching strategies; coordinate testing and deployment.
• Create and deploy software packages via SCCM/Tanium with automation scripts.
• Manage OS deployment using SCCM task sequences and driver packages.
• Administer Windows Server, AD, DNS, DHCP, and GPOs; monitor health and security.
• Ensure security/compliance; collaborate with security teams on vulnerabilities.
• Produce reports on patch compliance and system health; maintain SOPs.

A Windows Server Administrator specializing in SCCM and patching is responsible for managing and maintaining an organization's Windows server infrastructure, focusing on software deployment, security updates, and operating system management. They ensure system stability, security, and compliance by leveraging Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (formerly SCCM) and related technologies.

Roles and responsibilities

• SCCM Infrastructure Management: Administer and maintain the Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) environment, including site servers, clients, distribution points, and other components.
• Patch Management (Tanium Experience Preferable): Develop and implement strategies for deploying security patches and software updates for Windows servers and third-party applications. Coordinate patch testing, evaluation, and deployment schedules to minimize business disruption and align with maintenance windows. Troubleshoot patch-related issues and ensure high patch compliance across the server fleet.
• Software Deployment and Packaging: Create, test, and deploy software applications and packages to servers via SCCM/Tanium. Develop custom software packages and scripts using languages like PowerShell for automated deployments.
• Operating System Deployment (OSD): Manage and automate the deployment of Windows server operating systems using SCCM task sequences, boot images, and driver packages. Provisioning experience with Tanium a plus
• Windows Server Administration: Perform installation, configuration, and troubleshooting for Windows Server operating systems (e.g., 2012, 2016, 2019). Administer Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy Objects (GPOs). Monitor server performance, security logs, and overall system health.
• Security and Compliance: Ensure server configurations meet organizational security policies and compliance standards. Collaborate with security teams to prioritize critical vulnerabilities and implement corrective actions.
• Reporting and Documentation: Generate customs and regular reports on patch compliance, software inventory, and system health. Maintain detailed technical documentation for Processes, Configurations, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Troubleshooting and Support: Provide expert-level support for complex issues related to SCCM, Patching, and Server performance. Work with IT support and other teams to resolve incidents and fulfill requests.
• Continuous Improvement: Research and implement new technologies or upgrades to improve the efficiency and quality of system management services. Stay up to date with SCCM/Tanium trends and new features, such as integration with Intune or Azure Update Manager and Autonomous Endpoint Management with Tanium.

Qualifications and skills

• Education: Graduate
• Experience: Typically requires 5-7years of experience in Windows Server management/SCCM/ Tanium Tool, with hands-on experience in large enterprise environments.
• Technical Skills:
• Strong proficiency with SCCM (MECM)/Tanium, including its architecture, components, and functionalities.
• In-depth knowledge of Windows Server operating systems and Active Directory.
• Expertise in Patching strategies using Tanium.
• Proficiency in scripting languages, especially PowerShell, for automation and reporting.
• Experience with SQL queries for SCCM database reporting.
• Familiarity with related technologies, such as Microsoft Intune, Azure, and virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware).

Soft skills and Certifications

• Soft Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and collaboration abilities. Meticulous attention to detail and ability to work under pressure. Strong documentation skills.
• Certifications (Preferred): Relevant certifications, such as Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate or other MCSA/MCSE credentials, Tanium Certification (Tanium Certified Operator/Tanium Certified Administrator.

The compensation range indicated in this posting reflects the On-Target Earnings "OTE" for this role, which includes a base salary and any applicable target bonus amount. This OTE range may vary based on the candidate’s relevant experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
