Job summary

Electronic Arts in Hyderabad seeks a Senior Accountant to manage general ledger activities, balance sheet reconciliations, and month-end close in the Record to Report area. You will work on complex finance system projects (Oracle, Cadency) and assist with lease accounting and ASC 842 compliance.

You will support inter-company accounting, fixed assets, and accrual/prepaid journal entries, while ensuring SOX controls and audits are effectively coordinated.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of accounting/finance concepts.
• SME in R2R on finance systems, preferably Oracle and Cadency.
• Experience with lease accounting and ASC 842 is a plus.
• Knowledge of fixed assets accounting cycle.
• Experience with balance sheet reconciliations and journal entries.
• SOX compliance experience and audit coordination.

Responsibilities

• Perform general ledger activities including month-end close and reconciliations.

Job Title : Senior Accountant

Location : Hyderabad

A challenging opportunity with Electronic Arts (India) in Record to Report function. Candidate will be responsible for General ledger activities which include dealing with Finance system related projects, Lease Accounting, Inter-Company Accounting, Fixed Assets Accounting, Preparation of Bank Reconciliations, Manual Journal Entries, VAT Computation. He/she will also be assisting with month-end activities and supporting other team members in carrying out the responsibilities of the organization.

Key Responsibilities of this Role

• Strong Understanding of accounting and finance concepts. Hands on experience as Subject Matter Expert (SME) in R2R on finance systems (preferably Oracle & Cadency Reconciliation).


• Experience in Finance System implementation is an added advantage (e.g. Oracle, Leases, Reconciliations).


• Advance to Expert knowledge in preparation & documentation of Accrual and Prepaid journal entries, in compliance with the journal entry policy.


• Dealt with Balance sheet Reconciliations (Cash, Fixed assets, Inter Company, Current assets, Current liabilities etc.).


• Experience in lease accounting. Implementation of ASC 842 is an added advantage.


• Knowledge on Prepayments and periodical amortization of prepayments.


• Knowledge of Fixed assets accounting cycle (capitalization, depreciation accounting, disposals, retirement etc.).


• Analyse the movement in GL balances and assist in Balance Sheet commentaries.


• Thorough knowledge of Balance sheet items / Income statement line items.


• Adherence to the internal controls and support the review of key controls and SOX compliance.


• Should be able to assist with preparation and coordination of the audit process.


• Willingness to continuously evaluate, recommend, and implements changes to all processes impacting the GL to simplify while improving transparency.


• Demonstrates a technology-enabled mindset with the ability to identify opportunities for process standardization, automation, and continuous improvement. Possesses a working knowledge of digital tools (e.g., AI, Power Platform, or similar automation solutions) and the ability to leverage them to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of finance processes.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Qualified CA/CMA with a minimum of 3+ years of working experience of relevant business experience


• Semi-Qualified Chartered Accountant/Bachelor/Master degree in Commerce with a minimum of 6 to 8 years of relevant business experience


• Advanced accounting and financial skills required. Hunger to apply accounting principles and practices. Experience in USGAAP concepts is must. IFRS knowledge is a plus


• Hands on experience on Oracle R12 and Cadency Certification, HFM tool will be an added advantage.


• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.


• Ability to be adaptable and flexible, meet deadlines and work well in a team.


• Excellent organizational, problem solving and communication skills. Attention to detail and accuracy a must.


• Customer focused, ability to adapt to changing schedules and multiple work plans with moderate supervision.
