Job summary

Makse Group is seeking a Senior Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting across the group. The role collaborates with the Accounting Manager and Director of Finance to optimize processes as the business scales in the US and India.

The ideal candidate will have CA qualification, strong knowledge of Indian GAAP, and expertise in MS Excel, with exposure to US GAAP considered an asset. Workday experience is preferred, with opportunities for growth and competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• CA with commerce degree required.
• 1-3 years post-qualification experience.
• Knowledge of Indian GAAP; US GAAP a plus.
• Advanced MS Excel skills required.
• Understanding of Income Tax Act, GST, Companies Act 2013, FEMA, Labour Laws.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the implementation of financial systems and processes (GL, billing, T&E, AP).
• Support month-end close, ensure revenue/expenses recorded and reconciliations complete.
• Maintain general ledger and sub-ledger, post journal entries for fixed assets, prepaids, accruals, intercompany adjustments.
• Prepare financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flows).
• Assist with payroll processing and journal entries with Accounting Manager.

Welcome to Makse Group.We are looking for a Senior Accountant to be responsible for all day-to-day accounting functions of the company. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who has a very strong understanding of the P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow transactions, and with deep understanding of financial systems.This role will work closely with the Accounting Manager and the Director of Finance to own processes, procedures and to create efficiencies where possible as we look to scale the business in the US and India.The Candidate will have unparalleled access to the company leadership, strong opportunities for advancement within the organization, and highly competitive compensation.Responsibilities:Assist with the implementation of financial systems and processes, including General Ledger, billing, T&E, and AP procurement.Support the month-end financial close process, ensuring all revenue and expenses are properly recorded, and balance sheet and bank reconciliations are complete across multiple entities.Maintain the Company’s general ledger and sub-ledger accounts, including assisting in preparing and posting journal entries for fixed assets, prepaids, accruals, and intercompany adjustments.Assist in preparation of financial statements including income statement, balance sheet, and statement of cash flows.Support timely and accurate payroll processing and book appropriate journal entries in coordination with the Accounting Manager.Help research technical accounting issues to ensure company compliance.Comply with local, state, and federal government reports and tax requirements, including monthly and annual sales tax filings.Assist with the year-end financial statement audit in collaboration with external auditors, as well as any statutory audits that may arise.Support liaison with Banks, Auditors, Vendors, and other External Parties.Assist with FP&A processes, budgeting and cash flow projections, tax planning, ad hoc special projects, and other business analytics.Experience, Academic Qualifications & Skills1-3 years of relevant experience post qualification of CA.Chartered Accountant with a university degree in Commerce is must.Knowledge of Indian GAAP is required. Exposure to US GAAP will be an added advantage.Advanced MS Excel skills are required.Extensive understanding of the Income tax Act, GST, Companies Act 2013, FEMA, Labour Laws and other statutory & legal requirements.Strong understanding of the treasury and forex principles.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and communicate effectively.Experience in Workday will be preferred.
