Job summary

Sensata Technologies, a global industrial technology company, is seeking an Accountant to manage a broad range of accounting activities, including monthly records, reporting, and analysis. The role focuses on accuracy, compliance, and continuous process improvement across the organization.

The ideal candidate will prepare journal entries, perform reconciliations, and support close cycles while liaising with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

  • University degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Able to work in fast-paced environment with multiple tasks.
  • Strong communication across oral, written and presentation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Experience with Oracle, process automation, or internal controls is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and enter journal entries.
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Support month-end and year-end close process.
  • Analyze current financial status and prepare balance sheet, P&L, and other reports.
  • Identify errors and suggest efficiency improvements.
  • Review and suggest modifications to accounting systems and procedures.
  • Prepare financial statements and supplemental schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies and internal controls.

Job description

The Accountant is responsible for a variety of accounting activities across the Accounting organization including the preparation of monthly accounting records as well as related reporting, analytical activities and initiatives.

General Responsibilities
  • Prepare and enter journal entries
  • Responsible for performing balance sheet reconciliations
  • Follow the company’s chart of accounts
  • Support month-end and year-end close process
  • Apply research and analytical skills to analyze current financial status, preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports
  • Recommend financial actions by analysing accounting options
  • Identify errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending
  • Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures, liaising with management and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Prepare financial statements and supplemental schedules
  • Develop and document business processes ensuring compliance with accounting policies and internal controls
  • Comply with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions
  • Prepare special financial reports as needed by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends
Experience / Qualifications
  • A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience
  • Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands
  • Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation
  • Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results
  • Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity
  • Holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
  • Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers Experience in manufacturing, technology, or multinational organizations. Exposure to shared service center environments. Experience with Oracle implementation, process automation, and internal control design. Knowledge of revenue recognition, fixed assets, and intercompany accounting.
