Job summary

Brose Fahrzeugteile GmbH & Co. KG in Pune, India is seeking an experienced software engineer specializing in SAP ABAP to join the development team. The role focuses on ABAP-RICEF development, CDS views, AMDP and SAP HANA, with exposure to UI5/Fiori and SAP Gateway.

You will work in an agile environment, deliver end-to-end SAP customization, and contribute to technical design and implementation while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• 8-10 years software development experience, agile methodologies.
• Proficiency in ABAP-RICEF: Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Smartforms.
• Strong ABAP Object Oriented Programming skills.
• Experience with SAP 7.5+ new coding syntax.

Responsibilities

• Complete development activities including coding, testing, documentation and maintenance for SAP Custom Development (ABAP).
• Communicate development status per project plan and timelines.
• Realize software development requests in a timely fashion and escalate issues early.
• Estimate tasks and activity effort.
• Be flexible to take up different tasks in software development as per business needs.
• Collaborate with team to ensure successful project delivery.
• Prepare high-level technical design and development roadmap from blueprint.
• Handle incidents, service requests, and changes as needed.
• Conduct quality reviews of own and team developments to meet customer expectations.
• Provide technical guidance to junior developers.

Your Tasks

• Complete development activities such as coding, testing, documentation and maintenance support for SAP Custom Development solutions. (ABAP Development)
• Communicate development status according to the project plan and agreed timelines.
• Realization of software development requests in timely fashion there by escalating issues well in advance.
• Estimation for own tasks/activities.
• Be flexible in taking up different tasks in software development team as per the business requirement
• Work closely with other development team members to ensure successful project completion
• Team collaboration to support the team’s objectives and responsibilities.
• Prepare high-level technical design and development roadmap based on the blueprint.
• Handling of incidents, service requests, demands, and changes on need basis.
• Quality reviews of own and other developments to keep up the customer expectations
• Provide technical guidance to junior developers

Your Profile

• Software engineer with 8-10 years experience in software development (agile methodologies)
• ABAP-RICEF (Reports, Interfaces,Conversions, Enhancements, Smartforms)
• ABAP Object oriented programming
• Experience in SAP 7.5 onwards new coding syntax
• Adobe forms
• WebDynpro
• SAP-HANA, SAP-UI5 and Fiori knowledge will be an added advantage
• Experience with SAP Web Services, OData, and SAP Gateway is a plus.
• Experience with Core Data Services (CDS) views and annotations is a plus.
• Hands-on knowledge of ABAP Managed Database Procedures (AMDP) is a plus.
• Good to have knowledge of SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) services and extensions.
