Nothing — man, material or vehicle — should enter or leave without an authorised, recorded entry. The role runs the guard force across all shifts, controls the gate and material movement, keeps CCTV and patrolling effective rather than decorative, prevents theft and pilferage before it happens, and maintains registers and reports that stand up in an audit, an insurance claim or a police complaint. Morcom prefers an ex-Armed Forces or ex-Police officer for this seat because the work rests on exactly what uniformed service builds: discipline, alertness on a long shift, command over a subordinate force, calmness in a confrontation, and the habit of writing things down as they happened.## KEY RESPONSIBILITIES### 1. Gate Control & Material Movement* Gate discipline: Control the main gate round the clock — no person, vehicle or material moves in or out without proper authorisation and a recorded entry.* Inward material: Check every incoming vehicle against the invoice / challan, verify quantity and seal, record vehicle and driver details, and hand over to Stores for receipt — no unloading without a gate entry.* Outward gate pass: Release finished goods, scrap, tools, dies, machinery, samples and repair items ONLY against an approved gate pass (returnable / non-returnable) signed by the authorised person; maintain the gate-pass register and follow up every returnable item until it comes back.* Scrap movement: Supervise scrap weighment and dispatch personally — scrap is the highest-risk leakage point in any factory. Cross-check weighment slips against the vehicle.* Vehicle checking: Physically check outgoing vehicles, including the cabin and tool box; maintain a record of checks with time and guard name.* Personal belongings: Enforce the bag / tiffin check policy for workmen and contract labour at shift change, conducted with courtesy and without discrimination.### 2. Guard Force Management & Shift Deployment* Deployment: Prepare the duty roster and post-wise deployment for all shifts — gate, stores, plant, parking, dispatch area and boundary — and ensure no post is left unmanned.* Supervision & rounds: Take physical rounds in every shift, including night rounds at irregular hours; check alertness, turnout, post register entries and reliever handover.* Agency coordination: Manage the security agency — attendance verification against the bill, replacement of unsuitable guards, guard verification documents (police verification, PSARA licence of the agency, ESIC / PF coverage) and monthly performance review.* Briefing & training: Brief guards at every shift change on the day’s alerts, VIP or audit visits, dispatch plan and special instructions; train them on gate procedure, fire response, first aid and emergency drill.* Turnout & discipline: Enforce uniform, punctuality, sobriety and conduct standards; report and act on indiscipline, sleeping on duty and unauthorised absence.### 3. Surveillance, Patrolling & Access Control* CCTV: Ensure all cameras are working, correctly positioned and recording; review footage daily for the critical areas and preserve footage of any incident before it is over-written.* Patrolling: Run a fixed patrolling schedule for the plant, boundary wall, stores, scrap yard, finished-goods area, electrical panels and parking, with recorded checkpoints.* Access control: Control entry to restricted areas — stores, finished goods, server / ERP room, panel room, director’s office — and maintain the key register with issue-and-return accountability.* Visitor & contractor management: Issue visitor passes with ID verification and photograph, log in and out times, escort where required, and ensure contractor labour entry only against approved lists and gate passes.* Night & holiday security: Ensure heightened watch on nights, Sundays, holidays and shutdown periods; lock-and-seal check of stores and dispatch areas at closing.* Boundary & lighting: Report and follow up on boundary wall breaches, broken fencing, non-working lights and blind spots — these are fixed before an incident, not after.### 4. Theft, Pilferage & Investigation* Prevention first: Identify and close leakage points — scrap, packing material, copper wire, PCBs, components, tools and diesel — through checks, layout of stores and rotation of guard posts.* Incident response: On any theft, attempted theft, damage or trespass — secure the scene, preserve CCTV, record statements and inform the Director immediately, in writing, the same day.* Investigation support: Conduct a preliminary enquiry, prepare a factual written report with evidence, and support the HR / IR process for disciplinary action.* Police liaison: Maintain a professional working relationship with the local police station and administration; lodge FIRs / complaints when required, with the Director’s approval.* Confidentiality: Handle enquiry information, CCTV footage and employee matters with complete discretion — nothing is discussed on the shop floor or shared outside the approved chain.### 5. Fire, Safety & Emergency Preparedness* Fire equipment: Ensure fire extinguishers, hydrants, sand buckets, alarms and emergency exits are in place, unobstructed, inspected and within refill date; maintain the inspection register.* Emergency response: Be the first responder and coordinator for fire, accident, medical emergency, power incident or natural calamity — evacuation, head count at the assembly point, ambulance / fire brigade call.* Mock drills: Conduct periodic fire and evacuation drills with HR and Production; record participation and corrective points.* Safety discipline: Support the safety function on PPE compliance, no-smoking enforcement, restricted-area signage and housekeeping of exits and passages.* Statutory support: Keep security and fire records ready for Factories Act inspections, insurance surveys and customer / social audits.### 6. Records, Registers & Reporting* Registers: Maintain, in his own hand or on the system, the gate-in / gate-out register, gate-pass register, visitor register, vehicle register, key register, patrolling register, guard attendance and incident register — complete, dated, legible and signed.* Daily report: Submit a written daily security report to management — manpower deployed, vehicles handled, material movements, incidents, observations and pending points.* Incident reports: Write clear, factual incident reports in English or Hindi — what happened, when, who was involved, what was done, what is recommended — without opinion or exaggeration.* MIS & audits: Provide monthly security MIS; produce records on demand for internal audit, insurance claims and customer audits.* Digital records: Use basic computer / mobile applications for attendance, CCTV review, WhatsApp reporting and e-mail as required; willingness to learn the company’s ERP gate module.### 7. Administration & Employee Interface* Parking & traffic: Manage vehicle parking, in-plant traffic movement and driver discipline; keep dispatch and emergency routes clear at all times.* Labour gathering / IR support: Handle crowd, agitation or gate-gathering situations calmly and lawfully; inform management immediately and never use force or provocation.* Courtesy: Receive customers, auditors and dignitaries at the gate with correct protocol and turnout — the security post is the first impression of Morcom.* Support to HR & Admin: Support attendance discipline at the gate, canteen and transport coordination and general administrative duties assigned by management.## CANDIDATE PROFILE### Must-Have* Service background: Ex-Armed Forces (JCO / Havildar level) or Ex-Police (ASI / Head Constable level) with 10+ years of service and an honourable discharge / retirement — discharge book or service certificate required.* Command ability: Proven experience of supervising and holding a subordinate force accountable.* Literacy & records: Functionally literate in English and fluent in Hindi; must be able to write a clear incident report and maintain registers personally — this will be tested at interview.* Physical fitness: Fit for foot patrolling, night rounds and standing duty; no condition that prevents night-shift attendance.* Integrity: Unimpeachable — the person who checks everyone else must be beyond suspicion himself. Character and antecedent verification is mandatory.* Temperament: Firm but courteous; able to enforce a rule against a senior employee or a contractor without losing composure or creating an incident.### Preferred* Industrial security: Post-retirement experience as Security Officer / Supervisor in a factory, warehouse or plant — gate pass, scrap control and audit exposure.* Local knowledge: Resident of Sonipat / Kundli / Rai / Panipat belt, with familiarity of the local police station, administration and labour environment.* Certification: Fire-fighting, first-aid, industrial safety or PSARA-related training.* Computer basics: Ability to operate CCTV / DVR software, MS Excel or Word at a basic level, and a smartphone for reporting.* Mobility: Two-wheeler and valid driving licence.### Key Performance Indicators* Zero unrecorded movement: Every man, vehicle and material movement backed by a valid entry and gate pass.* Theft & pilferage: Nil theft / pilferage incidents; leakage points identified and closed proactively.* Register accuracy: All registers complete, legible and up to date on any surprise check by management or audit.* Post coverage: No unmanned post in any shift; guard absenteeism controlled and replacements arranged in time.* Equipment readiness: 100% of CCTV cameras and fire equipment working and within inspection date.* Response time: Incidents reported to management in writing the same day, with CCTV evidence preserved.* Conduct: No complaint of misbehaviour, favouritism or collusion against the security function.* FIRST 90 DAYS — WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE* Day 1 – 30: Full handover taken — all registers, keys, CCTV, fire equipment and guard deployment audited and the gaps listed in writing; gate-pass procedure enforced from day one.* Day 31 – 60: Duty roster, patrolling schedule and post-wise instructions published; scrap and outward movement brought under weighment-and-verification control; guard briefing and drill routine established; CCTV blind spots and boundary weak points reported with a corrective plan.* Day 61 – 90: Security running as a documented system — daily report reaching management without reminder, registers audit-ready, fire and evacuation drill completed, and no unrecorded movement across the gate.### How To Apply* Interested candidates may share their updated CV along with the discharge book / service certificate at hr@morcom.in with the subject line “Application – Security Officer”.
