Job summary

Akamai's Security Operations Command Center (SOCC) invites applications for a Security Architect to detect and mitigate real-time cyber-attacks for managed security customers. You will engage with technical teams to identify threats and deploy mitigations while minimizing end-user impact.

Expect strong networking expertise, knowledge of OWASP Top 10, and a customer-centric approach. The role emphasizes tooling advancement and cross-team collaboration within a leading cloud security platform.

Qualifications

• 3 years of relevant industry experience in networking, Akamai Platform, or web security.
• Strong grasp of networking fundamentals including TCP, IP and UDP.
• Knowledge of OWASP Top 10 and its relation to internet service security.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and collaboration skills.
• Willingness to learn new tools, technologies and solve problems.

Responsibilities

• Devising and engaging mitigation strategies to prevent real-time attacks using Akamai products and platform.
• Performing advanced analysis to identify attacks and threats to customers' digital properties.
• Communicating with customers regarding challenges and providing updates and results on mitigation and analysis.

Respond to cyber attacks in real time

As Security Architect, you'll engage in critical network and attack-related events for Akamai's managed security customers. Help identify real time cyber-attacks, strategize & deploy mitigations while neutralizing adverse impact to the end users.

As a Security Architect , you will be responsible for:

• Devising and engaging mitigation strategies to prevent real time attacks, using Akamai products & platform


• Performing advanced analysis to identify attacks and threats to customer's digital properties and/or their business network


• Communicating with customers regarding challenges and providing updates and results on your mitigation and analysis


• Innovating around tooling development & product enhancement.


• Being a good advocate to customer centricity during day-to-day operations & incidents

Do What You Love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have 3 years relevant industry experience on primarily networking OR Akamai Platform OR Web application Security. Excellent in Customer facing Role.


• Have an in-depth understanding of networking fundamentals; Basic networking, TCP, IP, UDP.


• Demonstrate knowledge of how the internet works, including, DNS. HTTP, Suite of IP Protocols


• Understand OWASP Top 10 and their relation to internet service compromises and attacks.


• Need to demonstrate excellent verbal & written communication skills and excellent collaboration & team work.


• Have passion and ability to learn new tools and technologies and problem solving.
