Job summary

Tops in New Delhi seeks an experienced Security leader to oversee all security operations across plants, warehouses, offices and other locations. You will establish policies, ensure access control, and coordinate with government agencies to safeguard people and assets.

The role requires 12–20 years in industrial security, with FMCG/manufacturing exposure and strong leadership for large outsourced teams. A PG in Security is preferred, and the position is on-site in New Delhi.

Qualifications

  • Graduate in any discipline; Post Graduate qualification preferred.
  • 12–20 years of relevant experience in Industrial Security / Corporate Security / Loss Prevention.
  • Experience in FMCG, manufacturing, logistics, warehousing or large industrial organizations preferred.
  • Experience managing large outsourced security manpower is essential.

Responsibilities

Job description

Position: Security
Department: Security / Administration

Location: New Delhi

1. JOB PURPOSE

To lead and manage the overall security function of the organization across manufacturing plants, warehouses, offices and other business locations.


The role will be responsible for protecting employees, visitors, company assets, raw materials, finished goods, infrastructure, information and business operations, while ensuring effective loss prevention, security compliance, emergency preparedness and business continuity.


The Incumbent will act as the key security advisor to senior management and work closely with Plant Operations, Supply Chain, HR, Administration, EHS, Finance, Legal, IT and external government agencies.


2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Security Operations
  • Lead end-to-end security operations across plants, warehouses, offices and other company locations.
  • Establish and implement security policies, procedures, SOPs and work instructions.
  • Ensure effective gate management, access control and movement control.
  • Control entry and exit of employees, contractors, visitors, vehicles and materials.
  • Ensure proper checking of incoming and outgoing vehicles and materials.
  • Implement effective visitor and contractor management systems.
  • Conduct regular security patrols, inspections and surprise checks.
  • Maintain high standards of security discipline across all locations.

B. Asset Protection & Loss Prevention
  • Develop strategies to prevent theft, pilferage, diversion, fraud, unauthorized access and damage to company assets.
  • Protect raw materials, packaging materials, finished goods, machinery, equipment and other assets.
  • Identify vulnerabilities in manufacturing, warehouse and distribution processes.
  • Work closely with Supply Chain and Operations to control material movement and product losses.
  • Investigate recurring loss areas and implement preventive/corrective actions.
  • Monitor high-risk areas such as warehouses, dispatch areas, scrap yards, fuel storage and material gates.

C. Security Technology
  • Drive effective utilization of modern security systems including:
    • CCTV surveillance
    • Access Control Systems
    • Visitor Management Systems
    • Vehicle Tracking/Monitoring
    • ANPR, where applicable
    • Intrusion/Perimeter Detection
    • Alarm Systems
    • Control Room/Command Centre
  • Ensure adequate CCTV coverage of critical areas.
  • Monitor CCTV uptime, recording quality and retention.
  • Periodically review security technology and recommend improvements/digitization.

D. Risk Assessment & Security Audit
  • Conduct periodic security risk assessments and vulnerability assessments.
  • Identify security threats relating to people, premises, assets, materials and operations.
  • Develop mitigation plans for identified risks.
  • Conduct regular security audits and compliance inspections.
  • Track corrective and preventive actions until closure.
  • Establish security standards and minimum controls for all locations.

E. Investigation & Incident Management
  • Conduct root-cause analysis and prepare investigation reports.
  • Recommend corrective and preventive actions to management.
  • Maintain proper incident documentation and evidence.
  • Escalate critical incidents to senior management immediately.
  • Coordinate with HR, Legal, Finance and Operations for sensitive investigations.

F. Emergency & Crisis Management
  • Develop and maintain emergency response and crisis management plans.
  • Ensure preparedness for fire, natural disasters, accidents, civil disturbances, security threats and other emergencies.
  • Conduct periodic mock drills and emergency exercises.
  • Ensure security team readiness for 24x7 emergency response.
  • Support business continuity planning.
  • Coordinate with EHS and Plant Operations during emergency situations.

G. Government & External Agency Liaison
  • Coordinate with authorities during major incidents and investigations.
  • Ensure appropriate documentation and reporting following serious incidents.
  • Provide security support during VIP visits, major events and critical business situations.

H. Security Manpower & Vendor Management
  • Plan and optimize security manpower requirements.
  • Manage security officers, supervisors, guards and outsourced security agencies.
  • Establish manpower deployment plans, shift rosters and post orders.
  • Monitor attendance, discipline and performance of security personnel.
  • Conduct regular training, briefing and competency assessments.
  • Manage security agency contracts, SLAs, KPIs and compliance.
  • Ensure all outsourced security personnel meet company standards and statutory requirements.

I. Compliance & Documentation
  • Ensure compliance with applicable statutory and regulatory requirements related to security operations.
  • Maintain security registers, incident records, visitor records, material movement records and investigation reports.
  • Ensure security documentation is audit-ready.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of security SOPs and policies.
  • Support internal and external audits.

J. Employee Security & Awareness
  • Build a strong security-conscious culture across the organization.
  • Conduct security awareness programs for employees and contractors.
  • Train employees on access control, emergency response, suspicious activity reporting and security protocols.
  • Promote discipline and adherence to security procedures.

4. QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE

Education:

  • Graduate in any discipline; Post Graduate qualification preferred.
  • Professional qualification in Industrial Security / Security Management will be an advantage.

Experience:

  • 12- 20 years of relevant experience in Industrial Security / Corporate Security / Loss Prevention.
  • Experience in FMCG, manufacturing, logistics, warehousing or large industrial organizations preferred.
  • Experience managing large manufacturing plants and multiple locations is desirable.
  • Experience managing large outsourced security manpower is essential.

Preferred Background:

  • Ex-Defence / Army / Navy / Air Force / CISF candidates retired of High rank are preferred.
  • Strong exposure to industrial security and corporate security operations.
