Job summary

RINA is seeking a Section Engineer - Fabrication Erection to join our Civil Engineering Division. The role focuses on managing construction activities to ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, safety regulations, and on-time, within-budget delivery by coordinating construction teams and subcontractors.

Education includes a Bachelor’s and preferably a Master’s in Civil Engineering.

Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly desirable.
• Certification in Construction Management or related fields is an advantage.
• Proven experience (8+ years usually) in construction supervision.
• Solid understanding of construction principles, techniques, and practices.
• Proven experience in monitoring and overseeing construction projects from initiation to completion.

Responsibilities

• Develop construction projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to design, specifications, and applicable regulations.
• Review accountable documents and prepare official deliverables vs Contractor.
• Implement and monitor quality control procedures to maintain high construction quality standards.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely progress and addressing delays.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure resources, materials, and equipment availability.
• Monitor project expenditures and provide input on cost control measures to keep projects within budget.
• Collaborate with the Construction Safety Senior Engineer to ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices.
• Identify and resolve technical issues that arise during construction.
• Prepare and submit regular progress reports to project stakeholders.

Mission

The role is focuses on managing construction activities to ensure they adhere to project specifications, quality standards, safety regulations, envirnomental issues and are completed on time and within budget by coordinating the work of construction teams and subcontractors.

Key Accountabilities

• Project Development: Develop construction projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to design, specifications, and applicable regulations.
• Document Review: Review accountable documents and prepare official deliverables vs Contractor.
• Quality Control: Implement and monitor quality control procedures to maintain the highest construction quality standards.
• Project Scheduling: Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely progress. Identify and address delays or issues that may impact project timelines.
• Resource Coordination: Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure the availability of necessary resources, materials, and equipment.
• Cost Management: Monitor project expenditures and provide input on cost control measures to keep projects within budget.
• Safety Compliance: Collaborate with the Construction Safety Senior Engineer to ensure all work is performed in adherence to safety regulations and best practices.
• Issue Resolution: Identify and resolve technical issues and challenges that arise during construction.
• Progress Reporting: Prepare and submit regular progress reports to project stakeholders, highlighting key accomplishments, issues, and proposed solutions.
• Contractor Claims Management: Support the principal engineer in managing Contractor claims.
• Change Management: Handle changes in project scope, schedule, or design. Ensure that all necessary adjustments are communicated and implemented.
• Document Management: Maintain project documentation, including plans, drawings, and records of project-related communications.
• On-Site Support: Provide direct day-to-day support and oversight of project elements, including site visits to take measurements.
• Engineering Support: Provide direct or indirect support to engineers or engineering teams by gathering data for permit applications and submitting documentation to officials.
• Project Timeline Development: Develop project schedules and deliverable timelines under the supervision of more experienced engineers.
• Technical Deliverables: Prepare technical deliverables, such as technical reports, project performance documentations, and engineering drawings.
• Progress Reports: Generate progress technical reports to keep stakeholders informed about project advancements.
• Quality Management: Be aware of and understand the Quality Policy, ensuring that all assigned activities are executed in accordance with the RINA Quality Management System (QMS).

Education

Bachelor’s Degree
