Job summary

Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. invites a design professional to contribute to the design and evaluation of seat components and their integration within the vehicle environment according to program schedules and quality targets.

The role involves cost and weight monitoring at part and subsystem levels, testing seating and seat belt systems, and applying regulation knowledge to drive robust countermeasures through design reviews and line feedback.

Qualifications

• Experience in design/development in at least one domain: Plastic/Sheet Metal/PU Pad/Seat Fabrics.
• Understanding of GD&T, BOM, manufacturing processes & costing.
• Effective communication and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in Unigraphics or CATIA would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Design and evaluate seat components and integration in vehicle environment per program schedule & quality targets.
• Cost and weight monitoring at part and subsystem level.
• Testing of seating and seat belt systems and regulation know-how.
• Plan countermeasures based on design/quality reviews, line feedback and testing.

• DESIGN & EVALUATION OF SEAT COMPONENTS & INTEGRATION IN VEHICLE ENVIRONMENT AS PER PROGRAM SCHEDULE & QUALITY TARGETS.
• COST & WEIGHT MONITORING AT PART & SUB-SYSTEM LEVEL
• TESTING OF SEATING & SEAT BELT SYSTEMS, REGULATION KNOW HOW
• COUNTERMEASURE PLANNING, AS NECESSARY, BASED ON DESIGN / QUALITY REVIEWS, LINE FEEDBACK & TESTING.
• EXPERIENCE OF DESIGN / DEVELOPMENTIN AT-LEAST ONE DOMAIN AREAS IN ANY OF THE FOLLOWING:

PLASTIC / SHEET METAL / PU PAD /SEAT FABRICS

SEAT MECHANISM

SEAT / SEAT BELT TESTING

SEAT BELT /SIDE AIRBAG

• UNDERSTANDING OF GD & T, BOM, MANUFACTURING PROCESSES & COSTING FUNCTION
