Caterpillar Inc. in Chennai, India invites an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the design and development of seals for engine and machine applications. This onsite role requires strong product design expertise and collaboration with suppliers.
The position includes relocation assistance and does not offer visa sponsorship. Five days onsite work week, with opportunities to contribute to material research, testing, and documentation across the lifecycle of seal components.

Design & development of Seals for Engine and Machine applications.
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering
10+ years of Product Design experience and minimum 5+ years in component Design & Development(Preferably Seals)
Experience in component validation
Have prior experience working with suppliers and procurement team
High degree of familiarity with engineering systems, processes, and standards
Technical Excellence: Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.
Knowledge of product features; ability to design, build, and develop a new product, technology, or service from concept through to production.
Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.
This position requires working onsite five days a week.
