Job summary

Helpshift is seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to help build, maintain and secure scalable infrastructure that hosts production workloads for internal teams in Pune, India. You will implement automation, security, IAM, and cost-aware architectures while collaborating with multiple engineering groups.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on DevOps/infra experience.
• Strong UNIX/Linux (Ubuntu) knowledge.
• Expertise in containerization and securing containerized environments.
• Experience with IaC: Ansible, Puppet, Terraform.
• Cloud experience on AWS, GCP or Heroku.
• Experience with NoSQL/RDBMS and messaging/big data: Kafka/RabbitMQ/Hadoop.
• Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and capacity planning tools.

About the Team:

DevOpsteam is at the core of Helpshift engineering. We have a centralisedDevOpsteam in Helpshift and that essentially means we have our technical depth both horizontally and vertically. We’re responsible for creating, maintaining, scaling and securing infrastructure used by many teams for critical workloads.

DevOpsteam work in following areas:

• Production & Development Infrastructure Provisioning and Maintenance
• Database Infrastructure
• Automations
• Core Infrastructure (Scalability, Performance & Optimisation)
• Security & Compliance
• Engineering Processes

You’ll be in a team that maintains, builds and scale infrastructure that will host the production workload as well as support internal engineering teams. You’ll make decisions with a significant impact on Helpshift.

Requirements

• Relevant experience of 3+ years and above.
• In-depth knowledge of running/managing UNIX-like operating systems (we use Ubuntu).
• Strong knowledge of networking protocols, security architectures, and identity and access management (IAM) principles.
• Experience with containerisation technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and securing containerised environments.
• Experience in Designing and building solutions that are highly scalable, fault tolerant and cost-effective
• Experience of various FOSS tools for monitoring, graphing, capacity planning, and logging.
• Experience with IaaC tools like Ansible, Puppet, Terraform.
• Experience with Cloud Computing platforms like Amazon AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Heroku.
• Experience with managing NoSQL and RDBMS
• Experience with queuing systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ) and Big data platforms (Hadoop)
