Cleo is seeking a motivated SDET-1 to join our engineering team in Bengaluru. You will help build robust test automation for web, mobile, and backend systems, working with senior engineers and product teams.

You will leverage AI tools and coding assistants to accelerate test creation, generate mock data, and troubleshoot failures, while growing your expertise in cloud tech and Git workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Exposure to cloud technologies such as Azure, AWS.
• Hands-on Git experience with branching, merging, PRs.
• Experience using AI coding assistants to write boilerplate test automation code.

Responsabilités

• Write, execute, and maintain automated test scripts for web, mobile, or backend apps.
• Run basic performance and load tests to identify bottlenecks and slowdowns.
• Identify, reproduce, document, and track defects using Jira and similar tools.
• Collaborate with developers, PMs, and QA to understand feature requirements and define acceptance criteria.
• Run regression, integration, and system tests during deployments and analyze results.
• Participate in peer code reviews for test scripts and ensure coding standards.

The Opportunity

Starting your career as an SDET-1 with us means you won't just be running manual test scripts or maintaining outdated legacy code. This is a launchpad role designed to accelerate your technical skills and build a rock-solid foundation in modern engineering practices.

What You'll Do

• Write, execute, and maintain automated test scripts for web, mobile, or backend applications under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Execute basic performance and load test scripts to identify bottlenecks, resource leaks, and application response times.
• Identify, reproduce, document, and track software defects using issue-tracking tools (e.g., Jira).
• Work closely with developers, product managers, and manual QA testers to understand feature requirements and define acceptance criteria.
• Run regression, integration, and system tests during deployment cycles and analyze the results.
• Participate in peer code reviews for test scripts to ensure coding standards and best practices are met.
• Leverage AI coding assistants to accelerate test creation, generate mock data, and troubleshoot failing tests.

What You Bring

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent bootcamp/hands-on experience).

Preferred

• Exposure to cloud technologies like Azure, AWS etc.
• Hands-on experience with Git (branching, merging, pull requests).

AI Fluency

Uses AI regularly across implementation, debugging, testing, and documentation with concrete examples of better quality, speed, or leverage. Shows real tool and model literacy — can explain why they use different tools for different tasks.

Experience using AI coding assistants (such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or Claude Code) to write boilerplate test automation code and refactor test blocks. Ability to write clear, structured prompts to generate diverse test datasets, formulate edge cases, and translate user stories into test scenarios.
