Medable is looking for a Data Engineer in Bengaluru, India, to build data pipelines and develop data models, reports, and dashboards. The ideal candidate will have over 6 years of experience, strong skills in SQL, and familiarity with modern data tools like Kafka and BigQuery. Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience as a BI/Data Engineer or similar.
• Hands-on experience with advanced SQL and writing performant queries.
• Experience in the modern Data Tools: Kafka, Airflow, dbt, BigQuery.

Responsibilities

• Build data pipelines to collect and transform data into a data warehouse.
• Develop data models, reports, and dashboards from ideation through production.
• Design, build, test, and deploy data pipelines and validate data for accuracy.
• Create fault-tolerant and low-latency data warehouse from the source data streams.
• Configure row level and column level security constructs.
• Understand business requirements and create data for customer-facing reports.

Responsibilities

• Build data pipelines to collect and transform data into a data warehouse
• Develop data models, reports, and dashboards from ideation through production
• Design, build, test, and deploy data pipelines and validate data for accuracy
• Create fault-tolerant and low‑latency data warehouse from the source data streams
• Configure the right row level and column level security constructs
• Understand business requirements and create data for customer‑facing reports with the appropriate drill‑to options
• Build analytical use cases, derive insights on top of the data model
• Other duties as assigned

Experience

• 6+ years of experience as a BI/Data Engineer or a combination of education and experience in this field
• Hands‑on experience with advanced SQL and writing performant queries
• Experience with the modern Data Tools: Kafka, Airflow, dbt, BigQuery

Skills

• Comfortable writing code in any one programming language: JavaScript/Python/R
• Understands Data Privacy/Compliance, GDPR, HIPAA, etc.
• Technical expertise with data modeling and database design

Education and Certifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred
