Job summary

Greenlight Planet Inc. is seeking an SDE I backend for remote work, joining the Global Analytics and Technology team to support Sun King's EasyBuy unit. You will design and develop backend services to improve field operations.

You will model data, implement APIs, and ensure code quality with unit tests, while collaborating with product managers and developers across geographies. 1+ year backend experience and Java proficiency are essential for this growing, impact‑driven company.

Qualifications

• 1+ years backend development experience and strong problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of object-oriented programming (OOP) and Java.
• Experience with SQL/MySQL or similar databases.
• Experience in integrating web services (SOAP/REST/JSON/XML).
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs for mobile/backend integration.
• Version control experience (Git) preferred.
• Frontend basics (HTML/CSS/JS) and Spring/Hibernate are a plus.
• Experience with AI tools for development is advantageous.

About the role:

The Backend Developer works remotely as part of the technology team to help Sun King’s EasyBuy business unit design and develop software to improve its field team operations.

What you will be expected to do

• Design and develop applications/systems based on wireframes and product requirements documents.
• Design and develop logical and physical data models to meet application requirements.
• Identify and resolve bottlenecks and bugs based on operational requirements.
• Perform unit tests on code to ensure robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability.
• Write reusable and easily maintainable code following the principles of DRY (Don’t Repeat Yourself).
• Integrate existing tools and business systems, both in-house and external services, such as ticketing software and communication tools.
• Collaborate with team members and product managers to understand project requirements and contribute to the overall system design

You might be a strong candidate if you have/are

• Development experience: 1+ years of backend development experience with good problem-solving abilities, and proficiency in data structures and algorithms.
• Knowledge of object-oriented programming (OOPS) standards and expertise in Core Java.
• Knowledge of SQL, MySQL, or similar database management.
• Experience in integrating web services, such as SOAP, REST, JSON, and XML.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs for linking android applications to backend services.
• Preferred experience with version control systems like Git, but not mandatory.
• Additional knowledge of web technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like Spring or Hibernate would be advantageous.
• Experience working with AI tools for AI assisted development.
