Job summary

Skeps, based in Gurugram, India, is seeking an SDE I Backend Developer to build and optimize its Point‑of‑Sale (POS) financing platform. The ideal candidate will have over 2 years of experience in software development, particularly with NodeJS and ExpressJS. Responsibilities include building platform architecture, assessing security risks, and scaling the infrastructure. This role requires expertise in cloud infrastructure and a willingness to work in an agile start‑up environment, as well as a keen attention to detail.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of working experience in software development.
• Experience building production systems for a start‑up or an organization.
• Good command over NodeJS and its internals; knowledge of Ethereum blockchain is desirable.
• Comfortable with RESTful web services/APIs using ExpressJS.
• Good command over cloud infrastructure such as AWS (preferred), MS Azure, or Google Cloud.

Responsibilities

Skeps is the Point‑of‑Sale (POS) financing platform that serves as a differentiated marketplace for both merchants and banks – giving merchants customized financing solutions to increase their revenue by providing a wide range of financing options for their consumers through multiple bank offerings. We are looking for an SDE I Backend Developer who brings experience coding, fixing, executing, and versioning existing code for applications, and who is ready to think beyond and take on bigger responsibilities.

As an SDE I (Backend), you will –

• Build the platform architecture using multiple technologies like NodeJS, ExpressJS, Ethereum Blockchain, Solidity.
• Assess security risks associated with the platform architecture and suggest or implement suitable changes.
• Scale up the infrastructure to meet increasing demand.
• Understand the underlying blockchain architecture and how the APIs have been designed and exposed for consumption.
• Work on optimization algorithms to ensure faster settlement through the platform and minimize technical/financial risk.
• Set up processes for easy deployment and maintenance of network infrastructure.

As an SDE I (Backend), you must have –

• 2+ years of working experience.
• Experience building production systems for a start‑up or an organization.
• Good command over NodeJS and its internals; knowledge of Ethereum blockchain is desirable.
• Comfortable with RESTful web services/APIs using ExpressJS.
• Comfortable with server‑side technologies such as Python, Node.js, Docker, Kubernetes, Git.
• Good command over cloud infrastructure such as AWS (preferred), MS Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Keen attention to detail and an obsession with building a good product – applicants are encouraged to share their GitHub or Bitbucket or product URLs.
• Ability to learn fast and understand new concepts quickly.
• Willingness to work in an agile start‑up environment and take complete ownership of assigned responsibilities.
