Job description

NEWTON SCHOOL OF TECHNOLOGY

SDE + Associate Instructor — DSA & Competitive Programming

Full-Time · Onsite ·Sonipat

About Us

Newton School of Technology is on a mission to redefine tech education in India. Backed by global investors (RTP Global, Nexus Venture Partners, Kunal Shah, and more), we are building a Tech Institute to solve the employability gap for millions of graduates. Through our campuses at Rishihood University (Sonipat), Ajeenkya DY Patil University (Pune), and S-VYASA University (Bengaluru), we are creating the next generation of industry-ready tech leaders.

About the Role

We are looking for a DSA & Competitive Programming Instructor (SDE + Associate Instructor) who lives and breathes problem-solving. This is a full-time, onsite role — not part-time and not online — based at one of our Bengaluru, Sonipat, or Pune campuses. You will spend your days coaching students to think like competitive programmers and build like software engineers. If you are equally passionate about cracking hard algorithmic problems and helping others learn to do the same, this role is for you.

Who You'll Work With

You will join an elite team of problem-solvers and work directly alongside Deepak Kumar Gour and Ashwin Krishnamoorthy—both ICPC World Finalists: learning from some of the sharpest competitive programming and engineering minds in the country. Together, you will set the standard for how DSA and competitive programming are taught in India.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Course Development & Delivery: Design and deliver in-depth lectures and labs on Data Structures & Algorithms (DSA), Competitive Programming, and System Design (HLD/LLD), aligned with the hiring standards of top product-based companies.
  • Practical Learning: Run live coding sessions, contest-style problem-solving, debugging walkthroughs, and hands‑on projects that help students apply DSA and CP concepts to real challenges.
  • Competitive Programming Coaching: Coach students for ICPC, Codeforces, LeetCode, CodeChef, and other contests, sharpening their speed, accuracy, and depth in problem-solving.
  • Mentorship: Provide one‑on‑one and group mentorship through mock interviews, coding assessments, hackathon guidance, and placement preparation.
  • Collaboration: Engage with industry professionals for guest lectures, live projects, and curriculum enrichment that bridges academic learning with real‑world practice.
  • Innovation & Research: Continuously update course content with emerging trends in algorithms, system design, and competitive programming platforms (LeetCode, Codeforces, CodeChef, and more).
  • Student Success: Empower students to master problem‑solving, build scalable systems, and gain the confidence to excel at top product‑based companies.
Eligibility Criteria (Must-Haves)

This is a role for serious problem-solvers. To be considered, you should meet all of the following:

  • 0- 4 years of experience in DSA, competitive programming, and/or teaching (or a strong combination of these). Given the contest for last a few years.
  • Codeforces rating of 1800+ (minimum).
  • A proven, demonstrable track record in competitive programming — ICPC, Codeforces, LeetCode, CodeChef, or equivalent.
  • Exceptional problem‑solving ability — you can break down hard problems and clearly explain your approach.
  • Genuine passion for both competitive programming / DSA and teaching.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's / Master's in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field from a Tier-1 / Tier-2 institute (IITs, NITs, IIITs preferred).
  • Strong programming skills in C++, Java, and Python.
  • Advanced knowledge of Data Structures & Algorithms — arrays, linked lists, stacks, queues, trees, graphs, dynamic programming, recursion, sorting & searching, and advanced algorithms.
  • Solid grasp of System Design (HLD, LLD, microservices, caching, DB scaling).
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to engage, inspire, and simplify complex concepts for students.
Good to Have
  • Active participation in hackathons, coding clubs, and competitive programming communities.
  • Experience organizing, judging, or mentoring at hackathons, coding contests, or student coding clubs.
  • 1–2 years of experience teaching or mentoring students / professionals in DSA or Software Engineering.
  • Industry experience as an SDE at a product-based company, building scalable, high‑performance systems.
Why Join Us? (Perks & Benefits)
  • Competitive salary aligned with (or above) industry standards.
  • Work shoulder-to-shoulder with ICPC World Finalists and a team of elite problem‑solvers.
  • Access to modern labs, classrooms, and collaborative facilities.
  • Direct contribution to India's most innovative tech education ecosystem.
  • Collaboration with leading universities and industry experts.
  • A chance to shape not just students — but the future of tech education in India.
The Impact You'll Make

At Newton School of Technology, you won't just teach — you will inspire, innovate, and shape the next wave of engineers and competitive programmers, all while staying at the forefront of problem‑solving and technology.

Please note: This is a full-time, onsite position based at our Bengaluru, Sonipat, or Pune campus. It is not a part‑time, online, or remote role.An Opportunity to train India’s next competitive programmer!
