Zomint Tech Pvt Ltd. is building India's Default Financial Advisor and seeks a Software Development Engineer 1 with hands-on React and Node.js experience to help build web applications and backend services.

You will work with engineers and product teams to deliver user-facing features and robust APIs. The role is ideal for early-career engineers with strong fundamentals, curiosity to learn, and a willingness to own tasks end-to-end.

Formación

• 1–3 years of professional software development experience, including internships or substantial projects.
• Working knowledge of Node.js and backend API development.
• Understanding of HTML, CSS, component-based architecture and responsive design.
• Familiarity with REST APIs, HTTP methods, JSON and asynchronous programming.
• Basic understanding of databases, SQL or NoSQL concepts and CRUD operations.
• Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows.
• Good problem-solving skills and understanding of data structures and algorithms.
• Willingness to take feedback, learn quickly and own tasks through completion.

Role Overview

We are looking for a Software Development Engineer 1 with hands-on experience in React and Node.js to help build and improve our web applications and backend services. This role is ideal for an early-career engineer with strong programming fundamentals, a good understanding of web development and the curiosity to learn by building. You will work closely with experienced engineers and product teammates to develop user-facing features, build APIs, integrate databases and improve application performance. We value practical problem-solving, clean code, a willingness to take ownership and the ability to turn requirements into working software.

Key Responsibilities

Backend Development: Develop and maintain backend services and REST APIs using Node.js and frameworks such as Express.

Database Integration: Work with databases to create, retrieve, update and manage application data.

Feature Development: Convert product requirements and design specifications into functional, reliable features.

API Integration: Connect frontend components with backend services and handle loading states, errors and data validation.

Code Quality: Write readable, maintainable code and follow established engineering practices.

Debugging: Identify, investigate and fix bugs across frontend and backend systems.

Testing: Write and maintain appropriate unit and integration tests to improve reliability.

Performance: Help improve application responsiveness, API performance and overall user experience.

Collaboration: Work with product managers, designers and other engineers to deliver features on time.

Continuous Learning: Explore new tools, technologies and development practices to improve the way we build software.

What We're Looking

For 1–3 years of professional software development experience, including relevant internships or substantial project experience.

Working knowledge of Node.js and backend API development.

Understanding of HTML, CSS, component-based architecture and responsive design.

Familiarity with REST APIs, HTTP methods, JSON and asynchronous programming.

Basic understanding of databases, SQL or NoSQL concepts and CRUD operations.

Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows.

Good problem-solving skills and an understanding of fundamental data structures and algorithms.

Willingness to take feedback, learn quickly and own assigned tasks through completion.

Good to Have

Experience with TypeScript.

Familiarity with PostgreSQL, MySQL or MongoDB.

Understanding of authentication, authorisation and API security basics.

Experience with automated testing, CI/CD or cloud deployment.

Personal projects, internships or deployed applications demonstrating practical engineering ability.

Familiarity with AI coding assistants and the ability to validate and understand generated code.
