Our work revolves around Whole School Transformation (WST) and the Asaadharan Teaching Fellowship Program, where we partner with government schools to strengthen systems from within, nurture teachers, empower student leadership, engage community and create joyful learning environments. Our Edu-Leaders make learning joyful with stories, activities and curiosity. We support teachers, involve parents, and give children English support, remedial learning and leadership opportunities.

Till now, we have reached 2,00,000 children, directly impacted 4000 children and trained 4800 teachers and principals to bring life back into their classrooms.

In the next five years, we aim to work with 37 schools, more than 30 community leaders and impact 15,000 and reach 3,00,000 children.

We are seeking a School Lead – a leader who not only brings skills and experience but also resonates deeply with our values of Love, Integrity, Leadership, Collaboration, and Reflection.

Role Description The School Lead is a full-time, on-site role based in Surat, responsible for overseeing the implementation of Asaadharan Foundation’s school transformation initiatives. The School Lead coordinates daily school operations related to the foundation’s programs, including supporting teachers, Edu-leaders, and school staff to deliver holistic, child-centered learning experiences. This role involves monitoring classroom practices, facilitating training sessions, and ensuring curriculum and teaching strategies align with the foundation’s vision and standards. The School Lead builds strong relationships with principals, teachers, parents, and community stakeholders, gathers feedback, and uses data to track student progress and program outcomes. The position also requires planning and supervising student leadership activities, managing reports and documentation, and collaborating with the central team to continuously improve school-level interventions.

The School Lead will be a key leadership role responsible for ensuring effective designing & execution of our programs, strengthening organizational systems and nurturing a values-driven culture. The individual will work closely with the Founder & CEO and consultant and advisors to shape strategy, oversee program planning & execution and build partnerships while keeping our vision and values at the center.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

WHOLE SCHOOL TRANSFORMATION (WST)

1. School Culture & Leadership

• Strengthen school leadership (Headmasters, SMCs, Teacher leaders, Student Parliament).
• Foster a culture of collaboration, reflection, and shared ownership across all stakeholders.
• Ensure smooth execution of school clubs, assemblies, remedial programs, English support programs, SEL activities and student-led initiatives.
• Work on different PM SHRI indicators to support school transformation and help the organization achieve its PM SHRI goals.

2. Teacher Development & Pedagogy

• Oversee teacher training programs, including weekly staff meetings and Teacher’s Milaap.
• Oversee and ensure the quality and effectiveness of school structures, teacher training programs, and student learning outcomes.
• Provide actionable insights and feedback from on-ground operations to inform and strengthen organizational strategy.

3. Student Learning & Leadership

• Design and support student leadership platforms (parliament, alumni network, clubs, SEL activities).
• Track and Analyse student growth in academics, values, and leadership skills.

4. Parent & Community Engagement

• Oversee the quality and impact of efforts by the team to strengthen SMCs and parent participation, ensuring insights inform strategy.
• Ensure parents are active stakeholders in children’s learning journeys.
• Build strong school-community linkages to sustain long-term transformation.

People & Team Development

• Provide continuous support to the program team through 1-1 check-ins, debriefs, and quarterly performance reviews.
• Manage HR processes: Policy adherence and team culture building.
• Build a strong, values-driven team culture rooted in ownership and collaboration.
• Lead recruitment and selection of ELs and program team members.

Stakeholder & Partnership Management

• Collaborate with school teachers, principals, URCs and CRCs to have positive enforcement.
• Strengthen partnerships and build new collaborations to advance Asaadharan’s mission.
• Ensure interns and volunteers at school contribute meaningfully.
• Overlook School Management Committee (SMC, student parliament and leadership initiatives at the school level.)

Organizational Growth & Self-Learning

• Build personal networks and bring them into Asaadharan’s ecosystem.
• Focus on self-learning, personal growth and building relevant skills to strengthen leadership.
• Support in maintaining team accounting and leave records.
• Model reflective leadership and inspire the team by example.
• Travel out of Surat to learn and visit other organisations for observations.
