Job summary

Teach For India invites applications for the role of Associate, School & Community Relations. The successful candidate will engage with school leaders, support Fellow placements, and strengthen partnerships across Delhi to improve student outcomes.

You will track city‑level data, analyse trends, and collaborate with Program teams to design and deliver capacity‑building sessions, ensuring compliance and effective execution of the Fellow lifecycle in our education equity movement.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Engage regularly with school leaders to deepen understanding of Teach For India’s mission and build champions for the movement.
• Support smooth Fellow placements by ensuring alignment on expectations and school readiness.
• Assist in maintaining strong relationships with partner schools and support MoU renewals and permissions.
• Collect and document information on stakeholder investment and school contexts through visits, shadowing, interviews, and surveys.
• Support identification and onboarding of new partner schools, including government and low‑income private schools.
• Consistently track, maintain, and update city‑level data related to schools, communities, Fellows, and stakeholder engagement.
• Analyse qualitative and quantitative data to identify risks, gaps, and trends impacting Fellow effectiveness.
• Support preparation of insights and recommendations aligned to Program priorities.
• Design and facilitate sessions for Inductions, City Conferences, and Program spaces on stakeholder mapping, expectation setting, negotiation, and conflict resolution.
• Collaborate with Program Managers to support Fellows in navigating school and community challenges.
• Work with Fellows to implement systems within partner schools.
• Support Fellows in organising parent‑teacher meetings and engaging parent communities.
• Support design and execution of a year‑long Community Engagement strategy for the city.
• Identify and maintain a database of government schemes, policies, NGOs, and community initiatives.
• Network with external organisations to support school, student, and community needs.
• Ensure instructional hours and student learning outcomes are met.

Teach For India is on a journey to reach an India free of poverty and filled with love by ending educational inequity in our country. Fifteen years into our journey we are a movement of ~5000+ Alumni working at all levels of the education system, who are reaching 1 in 10 children across the country. These Alumni have graduated from our two-year Fellowship Program where they taught in under-resourced classrooms to put ~33,500 low-income children on a different life path. Today, we have ~1000 Fellows and are the largest pipeline of driven, skilled talent into the educational ecosystem in India.Over 16,000 Teach For India students have appeared for the 10th grade board examinations till date, with an impressive 95% pass rate across cities as of November 2024.

In 2022, we embarked on Phase 4, our fourth strategic phase. We have a bold and ambitious ten-year journey ahead of us that aims to grow 50,000 leaders, who will work collectively, and with love, to transform the lives of 1 in 10 low-income children in our regions, through an education that unleashes the potential of self, others and India. Position Summary

The Associate, School & Community Relations (SCR) is a key member of the Program Team and plays an on-ground execution role in strengthening school and community environments that enable Fellow effectiveness and student outcomes.

The Associate works closely with Fellows, Program Managers, and the Manager–SCR to support stakeholder engagement, school partnerships, and community initiatives across the city. This role focuses on relationship management, data tracking, coordination, and capacity-building support to ensure smooth Fellow placements, strong school partnerships, and aligned community engagement.

Anchored within the Program Team, the Associate collaborates cross-functionally with Government Relations, HR, and other city teams to ensure compliance, alignment, and effective execution across the Fellow lifecycle.

Responsibilities

1. Stakeholder & School Partnership Support

• Engage regularly with school leaders (Headmasters, teachers, school staff) to deepen their understanding of Teach For India’s mission and build champions for the movement.
• Support smooth Fellow placements by ensuring alignment on expectations, roles, and school readiness.
• Assist in maintaining strong relationships with existing partner schools and support MoU renewals and permissions in coordination with the Manager–SCR and Government Relations teams.
• Collect and document information on stakeholder investment and school contexts through school visits, shadowing, interviews, and surveys.
• Support identification and onboarding of new partner schools, including government and low-income private schools, as required.

2. Data Tracking, Analysis & Problem-Solving

• Consistently track, maintain, and update city-level data related to schools, communities, Fellows, and stakeholder engagement.
• Analyse qualitative and quantitative data to identify risks, gaps, and trends impacting Fellow effectiveness and school partnerships.
• Support preparation of insights and recommendations aligned to Program priorities to be shared in school team meetings and internal reviews.
• Document and amplify best practices from schools and communities to Fellows, Program Managers, and internal teams.

3. Capacity Building & Fellow Support

• Support Senior Program Managers / Program Coaches in designing and facilitating sessions for Inductions, City Conferences, and Program spaces on topics such as stakeholder mapping, expectation setting, negotiation, and conflict resolution.
• Collaborate closely with Program Managers to support Fellows in navigating school and community challenges.
• Work with Fellows to implement efficient systems and structures within partner schools.
• Support Fellows in organising parent‑teacher meetings, identifying parent champions, and engaging parent communities on key education‑related issues.
• Support Fellows in planning and implementing high-impact Be The Change Projects (BTCPs) in the community.

4. Community Engagement & Partnerships

• Support the design and execution of a year‑long Community Engagement strategy for the city in collaboration with the Manager–SCR.
• Identify, maintain, and share a database of government schemes, policies, NGOs, and community initiatives that support student safety, health, and learning.
• Network with external organisations to support school, student, and community needs aligned to programmatic goals.
• Work with schools and community centres to ensure required instructional hours and student learning outcomes are met.

5. Cross-Functional & Organisational Contributions

• Collaborate with Program, Government Relations, and HR teams to ensure aligned stakeholder engagement and compliance.
• Support city-wide events such as Inductions, Institutes, City Conferences, and Mid-Year Retreats.
• Support the City Child Protection Committee to strengthen child safety and well‑being systems.
• Contribute to Recruitment, Selection, Matriculation, Training, and other organisational priorities based on interest and skills.
• Serve as an ambassador of Teach For India’s values and mission through internal and external engagement.
