Job summary

Vestas Chennai is seeking a Server Engineer for Service Operations Support to deliver advanced troubleshooting, SCADA server configuration, and remote support to internal regional stakeholders. The role emphasizes ownership, collaboration, and keeping documentation up to date, with a focus on secure, standards-aligned SCADA deliveries.

The ideal candidate holds a 3+ year track record in related fields, with experience in Microsoft OS/Server/SQL, VM environments, and Rockwell/Studio 5000 tooling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Communication, Programming, Electrical Engineering or Control Systems.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience.
• Experience with Microsoft OS, Server, and SQL incl. admin tasks.
• Knowledge of VM platforms and SCADA-related tools.

Responsibilities

• Commissioning and Configuration of SCADA Server and PPC automation systems.
• Configuration of communication devices (Cisco router and firewall, switches).
• High-level support to internal and external stakeholders during Service phase.
• Development of additional features under customer's request.
• Keep track of SCADA system status and update as-built documentation.
• Support External partners on SCADA activities.
• Securing Vestas standards and customer requirements in our SCADA deliveries.
• Ensuring knowledge transfer and contributing in optimizing and improving our product solutions.

SSC - Services > Service Operations Support > Unscheduled APAC

At Vestas Shared Service Center, we are constantly working to deliver on time to our support to Service business in terms of technical planning for scheduled and unscheduled maintenances, Contract management administration, transformation program, turbine performance reporting, Non-conformance management and Continuous improvements, etc, with an intent to optimize cost, LPF, commercial excellence. It is an ever-developing task in a progressive environment.

This role will be part of Service operations support- Server Engineer which provides constant support to internal regional stakeholders, focusing on advanced troubleshooting and fix issue remotely with full ownership and accurate task execution.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and experience in Microsoft OS, Server, and SQL, including administrative functionalities
• Knowledge and experience with Virtual Machines (VMware or others)
• Experience with communication protocols (MODBUS, DNP, OPC-DA, OPC-UA, IEC, etc.)
• Knowledge of Studio 5000 Logix Designer, ControlLogix and structured text, minimally at a level corresponding to the Rockwell trainings
• Networking skills, Cisco certification is valuable
• Highly motivated and results driven
• Aware of cybersecurity risks in industrial settings
• Collaborative and able to thrive in an environment with shifting priorities
