Job summary

tech carrot is seeking an experienced SAP VMS consultant to lead end-to-end implementation and ongoing support for automotive business processes across SAP SD/MM/FI/CRM integrations. You will collaborate with stakeholders, perform unit and integration testing, and drive best-practice configurations including ABAP enhancements and S/4HANA compatibility.

This role spans India offices including Chennai/Hyderabad/Noida with occasional travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT, CS, or Automotive Business.
• 5+ years hands-on SAP VMS implementation and support.
• Strong understanding of automotive business processes including vehicle sales.
• Experience with ECC or S/4HANA and automotive add-ons.
• Proven integration of VMS with SD, MM, FI and CRM.
• ABAP knowledge and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Configure and support SAP VMS module and related processes.
• Customize vehicle master data, status management, and lifecycle workflows.
• Manage procurement, inventory and sales within VMS.
• Integrate SAP VMS with SD, MM, FI and CRM modules.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into specs.
• Perform configuration, testing (unit/integration/UAT) and deployment support.
• Troubleshoot issues and provide user training and post-go-live support.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and best practices.

Job Description

• Configure and support VMS module
  
• Customize vehicle master data, status management, and vehicle lifecycle processes
  
• Manage procurement, inventory and sales processing within VMS
  
• Integrate SAP VMS with core SAP modules such as SD (Sales & Distribution), MM (Materials Management), FI (Finance), and CRM
  
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into functional specifications
  
• Perform system configuration, testing (unit, integration, UAT), and deployment support
  
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to automotive processes and system integrations
  
• Provide user training, documentation, and post-go-live support
  
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and recommend industry best practices
  

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Automotive Business, or a related field
  
• Minimum 5+ years of hands‑on experience in SAP VMS implementation and support
  
• Strong understanding of automotive business processes, including vehicle sales
  
• Strong Knowledge in variant configuration and in setting up complex pricing
  
• ABAP knowledge
  
• Experience with SAP ECC or SAP S/4HANA, including automotive-specific add-ons
  
• Proven experience integrating VMS with SD, MM, FI, and CRM modules
  
• Knowledge of service operations, and dealer workflows
  
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  

Preferred Certifications:

• SAP Certified Application Associate – Sales and Distribution (S/4HANA)
  
• SAP VMS-specific training
  

Additional Skills (Preferred):

• Experience with SAP Fiori applications for automotive and dealer management
  
• Familiarity with SAP Customer Experience (CX) or CRM integrations
  
• Knowledge of data migration, master data governance, and reporting tools
  
• Experience in Agile/Scrum project environments
  
• Understanding of automotive industry standards, compliance, and dealer network operations
