- To own end-to-end SAP solution architecture across the automotive component manufacturing landscape
- To design and govern scalable, secure, and well-integrated SAP solutions aligned to business and manufacturing strategy
- To lead SAP S/4HANA architecture decisions, integration design, and the technology roadmap
- To ensure the SAP landscape supports plant operations, quality, and supply chain requirements with minimal disruption
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Define and own the overall SAP solution architecture and roadmap across all modules and plants
- Lead architecture design for S/4HANA upgrades, and rollouts
- Finalize integration architecture between SAP and shop-floor/MES, PLM, and third-party systems
- Drive design of the core and extended SAP landscape ( S4, Fiori, BTP, EWM, etc.)
- Own technical governance: data architecture, security architecture, and interface design, ABAP development
- Review and approve functional/technical designs prepared by module leads and consultants
- Evaluate new SAP technologies (BTP, AI/ML in SAP, IoT, Industry 4.0) for adoption
- Drive SAP landscape strategy for scalability across new plants and business units
- Ensure architecture compliance with corporate IT and cybersecurity standards
- Provide architectural oversight to implementation partners and consulting teams
- Own risk assessment and mitigation for major SAP changes and releases
- Mentor and guide SAP functional and technical leads across modules
- Support business case development for new SAP initiatives (ROI, TCO)
- Lead vendor and partner evaluation for niche or extended SAP solutions
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
- Deep expertise in SAP S/4HANA architecture, migration, and landscape design
- Strong knowledge of core SAP modules viz. FICO, MM, SD, PP, PM, QM, EWM
- Experience with automotive/manufacturing-specific SAP processes (Kanban, Sub-contracting, MRP, ASN, JIT/JIS)
- Hands-on exposure to SAP Fiori, BTP, and SAP Analytics Cloud / Power BI
- Strong understanding of SAP Basis, Security, and integration technologies (PI/PO, CPI)
- Experience designing SAP interfaces with MES, PLM, and third-party logistics/quality platforms
- Knowledge of IoT, Industry 4.0, and digital manufacturing trends will be an added advantage
- Strong stakeholder management and ability to translate business needs into technical architecture
- Excellent communication, leadership, and presentation skills
- Ability to manage multiple SAP implementation partners and cross-functional teams
Education & Experience
BE / B.Tech. in CS/IT/Mech./Auto./Prod.; MBA preferred
Minimum 10-15 years of SAP experience with at least 4-5 full-cycle S/4HANA implementations
Prior experience as SAP Solution/Enterprise Architect in a manufacturing/automotive environment
Certification in SAP S/4HANA / TOGAF or equivalent architecture certification preferred
Experience managing large, multi-plant SAP landscapes in a Engineering/manufacturing set up preferred.
