Job summary

METTLER TOLEDO is seeking a senior SAP ABAP/SCM specialist in India to analyze, design, and implement custom developments in SAP ECC, write technical designs, and perform unit tests. You will own changes end-to-end, ensure lifecycle governance, and collaborate with functional product teams to translate business needs into robust solutions.

The role requires 5+ years SAP ABAP experience, SAP SCM exposure, strong English communication, and a proactive, process-oriented mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years' SAP ABAP experience.
• Minimum 1 years’ experience in SAP SCM.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken (minimum C1 level).
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Structured, detailed working methodology with a continuous improvement approach.

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

• Analyse, evaluate and implement custom developments in the area of SAP (mainly ECC) according to the specifications and the ABAP Development processes.
• Write technical designs and execute unit tests.
• Troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
• Present strong ownership of driven changes, support delivery, and make sure that change properly goes through its lifecycle.
• Ensure adherence to our development operating model and guidelines as well as best practices (code quality, performance optimization, Documentation Quality). Actively participate the Code Quality review process.
• Be a strong partner for your counterparts in the functional product teams in order to implement the business needs.
• Provide status updates to Product Owner and respective Stakeholders; Timely escalation of issues to avoid delivery delay.
• Ensure adherence to our development of the operating model and guidelines as well as best practices (code quality, performance optimization, Documentation Quality). Actively participate in the Code Quality review process.
• Recommending system solutions by comparing advantages and disadvantages of the SAP SCM and other related standard application offerings vs custom development
• Troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
• Present strong ownership of driven changes, support delivery, and make sure that change properly goes through its lifecycle.

What You Need to Succeed

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, or related field,
• Minimum of 5 years' SAP ABAP experience,
• Minimum 1 years’ experience in SAP SCM,
• Good Techincal expertise in SAP SCM.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken (minimum C1 level),
• Strong communication and presentation skills,
• Structured, detailed working methodology; continuous improvement approach and process oriented.
• Likes to work in a Global and fast-moving environment.
• Strong knowledge on ABAP Object Oriented concepts, SAP Enhancement concepts, BADIs, User-Exits, Interfacing technologies (Proxy, BDOC), SMARTFORMS , Interfacing technologies (ALE IDoc and Non-ALE, Proxy's) and RFC. Good to have knowledge on SAP Cloud platform and programing model (BTP).
• Knowledge of HANA (ABAP Core Data Services (CDS) and ABAP Managed Database Procedures (AMDP) - is plus.
• Basic knowedge on Assist in the design and development of custom SAPUI5 applications and the enhancement of standard SAP Fiori apps.
• Excellent analytical, debugging skills and Problem-Solving skills
• Understanding on Agile development process – is plus.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, proactive and communicative team player with a critical, yet result-oriented and willingness to learn, Self-motivated, positive attitude.
