Job summary

EXL is seeking an experienced SAP BusinessObjects BI professional to design and develop reports using WebI, Crystal Reports, Analysis for Office, and SAP Lumira, and to build executive dashboards and KPI reports.

The role includes SAP BO platform administration (install, configure, monitor), migrations to BI 2025, security governance, performance tuning, and data/ETL concepts to support enterprise reporting needs.

Qualifications

• Experience with SAP BO platform administration and reporting tools.
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and dimensional modelling.
• Proficiency in SQL and data source connections for BI reporting.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop reports using WebI, Crystal Reports, Analysis for Office, and SAP Lumira.
• Create ad hoc reporting solutions for business users.
• Develop complex queries, calculations, variables, and report formatting.
• Build and maintain executive dashboards and KPI reports.
• Install, configure, and administer SAP BusinessObjects BI Platform 4.3 / BI 2025.
• Manage CMS repositories, FRS servers, and server groups.
• Configure authentication mechanisms and monitor platform health.
• Participate in migrations from BO 4.2 to BO 4.3 and to BI 2025.
• Validate report compatibility and perform repository migration and content promotion.
• Develop rollback and cutover strategies.
• Implement role-based security models; manage users and permissions.
• Analyze performance, optimize Universes, SQL, scheduling; troubleshoot issues.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting & Dashboard Development

• Design and develop reports using:
  • Web Intelligence (WebI)
  • Crystal Reports
  • Analysis for Office
  • SAP Lumira (where applicable)
• Create ad hoc reporting solutions for business users.
• Develop complex queries, calculations, variables, and report formatting
• Build and maintain executive dashboards and KPI reports.

SAP BI Platform Administration

• Install, configure, and administer SAP BusinessObjects BI Platform 4.3 / BI 2025.
• Manage CMS repositories, FRS servers, and server groups.
• Configure authentication mechanisms:
• Monitor platform health and availability.

Migration & Upgrade Activities

• Participate in migrations from:
  • BO 4.2 to BO 4.3
  • BO 4.3 to BI 2025
• Validate report compatibility and regression testing.
• Perform repository migration and content promotion
• Develop rollback and cutover strategies.

Security & Governance

• Implement role-based security models.
• Manage users, groups, and folder-level permissions.
• Ensure compliance with organizational governance policies.
• Support audit and access-control reviews.

Performance Optimization

• Analyze report and query performance.
• Optimize Universes, SQL generation, and report scheduling.
• Configure caching and server tuning.
• Troubleshoot production performance issues.
