Job summary

NTT DATA, Inc. in Bangalore is seeking a SAP Basis Consultant to join our team. The role requires 5+ years of relevant experience in SAP Basis administration, upgrades, OS/DB migrations, and support projects. You will work in multiple shifts (6AM–2PM, 2PM–10PM, 10PM–6AM) as project needs dictate and must have strong communication.

Preferred: SAP Basis certifications, knowledge of Solution Manager, BEx, and SAP components ECC/PI/BW/ APO/ GATP. Azure cloud experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• 5+ years relevant experience in SAP Basis and related systems.
• Graduate degree or equivalent education/work experience.
• Must have: SAP Administration, Support packages, Printer config, BEx installation, Solution Manager.
• Will support ECC, PI, BW, APO, GATP, and BODS systems.
• Azure/cloud knowledge and SAP Basis certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Acknowledge/clean alert logs and archiving transport logs.
• RFC Link maintenance and system performance monitoring.
• Backup scheduling and DB monitoring for SAP level.
• Manage CBO statistics and missing index searches.
• Memory management and database parameter tuning.
• Install printers and configure system logs.
• Operate Transport Management System and schedule jobs.
• Maintain SAP profiles, client maintenance, and SNOTE notes.
• Monitor DB growth and performance tuning activities.
• Extensive SAP Basis operational tasks as needed.

• Acknowledgement / Cleaning of alert logs, cleaning/ archiving of transport logs/ import queues
• RFC Link Maintenance, System performance monitoring, Offline/ Online backups at SAP level and backing Up
• Checking and Creating CBO Statistics, Searching for Missing Indexes
• Memory Management: Page In / Pages Out, Memory Management: Ext. Memory/ Roll In/ Out etc.
• Installing SAP License, Configuring the System Log, Setting Up Logon Groups
• Installing Printers, Sending System Messages, Profile Generator: Maintaining Activity Groups/ Roles
• Operation mode maintenance, Activities on SAP Net, Management of the Transport Management System (TMS)
• Scheduling Jobs, Support Package/ Add-ons, System Profiles and its maintenance
• Client Maintenance, Automatic Note application through SNOTE, Printer Configuration
• Backup Scheduling thru DB13 and monitoring thru DB12, SCOT monitoring
• Searching for Missing Indexes, Monitoring the Growth of Extents, Checking Database Performance
• Extending the Database (Adding Data Files),Making changes in Oracle Parameters based on recommendation from L3 experts for performance optimization.
• Checking and Managing CBO statistics.
