Job summary

BDO India seeks an experienced SAP ABAP developer with 3–5 years in manufacturing environments to design and implement robust ABAP solutions. You will work across modules, deliver reports and interfaces, and support AMS incident resolution with performance tuning.

The role requires proficiency in OO ABAP, IDocs, SmartForms/Adobe Forms, BAPIs/BADIs, and CDS views, plus exposure to S/4HANA and modern development approaches. Collaboration with BASIS and functional teams is essential.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of SAP ABAP development experience, preferably in manufacturing
• Strong hands-on expertise in Reports, Interfaces, Enhancements, User Exits, BADIs, BAPIs, IDocs, SmartForms/Adobe Forms, and OO ABAP
• Experience with AMS (Application Management Services) including incident resolution, bug fixes, performance tuning and ticketing tools/SLAs
• Ability to work across SAP modules with preference for MM, PP, SD, QM and FI/CO in manufacturing context
• Exposure to S/4HANA ABAP, CDS Views, and modern development approaches

Responsibilities

• Develop SAP ABAP solutions in manufacturing contexts, including reports, interfaces, enhancements and user exits
• Work with ABAP objects such as BADIs, BAPIs, IDocs, SmartForms/Adobe Forms, and object-oriented ABAP
• Provide AMS incident resolution, bug fixes, performance tuning and SLA-driven ticket handling
• Collaborate across SAP modules (MM, PP, SD, QM, FI/CO) and leverage S/4HANA ABAP/CDS views
• Explore modern development approaches and API integrations for seamless processes

Role & responsibilities

• 3 to 5 years of SAP ABAP development experience, preferably within the manufacturing sectors. Pharma experience is a plus.
• Strong hands-on expertise in Reports, Interfaces, Enhancements, User Exits, BADIs, BAPIs, IDocs, SmartForms/Adobe Forms, and Object-Oriented ABAP
• Experience with AMS (Application Management Services) including incident resolution, bug fixes, performance tuning, and working with ticketing tools/SLAs
• Ability to work across multiple SAP modules, with preference for MM, PP, SD, QM and FI/CO in a manufacturing context
• Exposure to S/4HANA ABAP, CDS Views, and modern development approaches

Preferred candidate profile

• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills with focus on delivering stable, high quality solutions
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including BASIS, functional consultants, and business stakeholders
• Familiarity with integration scenarios (PI/PO, CPI, APIs) is an advantage
