Validate capability segmentation: Determine which requested capabilities already exist, which require reconfiguration or stronger operating discipline, and which genuinely require net-new architecture. Document evidence from the org and maintain an architecture decision log that prevents unnecessary rebuilds. Define target architecture: Produce the target data model, security and sharing approach, automation strategy, integration-ready identifier strategy, maintainability standards, and technical sequencing needed to support the transformation without overengineering. Design and build complex Salesforce capabilities: Own the most technically demanding backend work, including custom objects, complex Flow or Apex when justified, rollups, historical status models, monitoring, and automation that cannot be safely or efficiently delivered through routine administration alone. Deliver Tier-1 Account Management architecture: Design and build Account Plan extensions, individual account strategy structure, Parent Account and OpCo views, a dated weekly-status history model, account-health rollups if approved, manager views, controls, and supporting automation for governed Tier-1 account management. Enable MarDev Regulatory Intelligence: Partner with the internal administrator to implement structured regulatory fields, controlled values, secure access, search and reporting, ownership and review-date controls, audit history, and maintainable data-quality rules. Build the lifecycle Handoff Object and launch controls: Design and implement the Handoff Object, relationships, readiness validation, state transitions, permissions, approval or exception handling, auditable override controls, reporting, and stable identifiers that preserve future Jira or Asana integration readiness. Implement forecasting and methodology controls: Support MEDDPICC field and stage enforcement, exception handling, close-date push reasons and history, Stage 3 stale-deal alerts, dependent opportunity outcome codes, and week-over-week pipeline variance history or snapshots where the current org cannot reproduce prior state. Own complex migration tooling and zero-data-loss controls: Develop migration utilities, deduplication and validation approaches, source-to-target mappings, dry-load support, reconciliation evidence, exception handling, and rollback support. Every in-scope source item must be migrated, linked, retained, or explicitly dispositioned—never silently omitted. Drive technical quality and release readiness: Create and maintain technical designs, automated or repeatable test evidence, code reviews, deployment packages, rollback plans, release notes, monitoring, production-verification steps, and defect-resolution plans. Support go/no-go decisions and production cutover. Pair with Uplight’s Salesforce Administrator: Work transparently with the internal administrator on architecture, build, security, data operations, testing, deployment, and support transfer. Production access and release control remain with Uplight. Leave durable knowledge behind: Maintain weekly pairing, architecture diagrams and decision logs, a configuration inventory, admin guidance, deployment documentation, and a support runbook so Uplight can safely operate and extend the solution after the Full Time ends. Communicate risks and trade-offs early: Translate technical findings into clear business implications, identify schedule or scope effects, recommend pragmatic alternatives, and escalate blockers before they jeopardize data integrity, release safety, or delivery milestones. Required Skills Experience: 8+ years of hands-on Salesforce platform delivery, including significant experience as a senior solution architect, technical architect, lead engineer, or equivalent role in an existing production org. Demonstrated ability to both design architecture and personally build or review the implementation. Current-state assessment: Proven ability to enter a mature or customized Salesforce instance, trace dependencies (e.g. dependencies on a separate Salesforce Marketing instance and third-party applications), assess technical debt, distinguish symptoms from root causes, document architectural constraints, and establish a practical target-state plan under time pressure. Sales Cloud architecture: Deep expertise in Sales Cloud, Salesforce Marketing Cloud and third-party apps, Salesforce data modeling, object relationships, record ownership, Account and Opportunity Teams, security and sharing, reporting, forecasting, and commercial lifecycle design. Flow and Apex depth: Expert-level command of Flow and strong Apex/SOQL capability, including the judgment to choose declarative configuration versus code based on scale, maintainability, platform limits, testability, and failure modes. Data migration and reconciliation: Experience designing migration utilities and repeatable reconciliation controls for complex source data, including mapping, deduplication, validation, dry runs, exception management, rollback planning, and proof of completeness. Security and access: Strong knowledge of profiles, permission sets, sharing, role hierarchy, least-privilege design, auditability, sensitive commercial/client data handling, and permission testing across user personas. Release engineering: Experience with sandboxes, source control and/or modern Salesforce DevOps tooling, deployment packaging, automated or repeatable testing, regression testing, release gates, rollback, production verification, and post-release monitoring. Complex business-process modeling: Ability to translate account management, forecasting, regulatory intelligence, implementation handoff, approvals, exceptions, and historical reporting requirements into durable Salesforce patterns. Performance and maintainability: Ability to design for governor limits, data volume, automation order, observability, error handling, maintainability, and safe future extension rather than short-term point solutions. Documentation and knowledge transfer: Strong written documentation discipline and a demonstrated habit of pairing with internal administrators or engineers, maintaining architecture decisions, producing runbooks, and transferring support ownership before project exit. Communication and collaboration: Ability to explain complex technical issues to technical and nontechnical partners, expose trade-offs, work productively with incomplete but time-bound business decisions, and collaborate across India and North America time zones. Ownership and judgment: Ability to operate independently within an approved scope and NTE, maintain accurate estimates and status, challenge ineffective approaches constructively, and surface scope/cost/schedule impacts before additional work is undertaken. Certifications: Salesforce Administrator and Platform Developer I or equivalent demonstrated capability are expected. Salesforce Application Architect, System Architect, Advanced Administrator, or comparable architecture credentials are strongly valued. CTA is not required. Preferred Experience transforming Salesforce into an enterprise-wide commercial source of truth across Sales, Account Management, Implementation, Professional Services, retention, and forecasting. Experience with enterprise account hierarchies, Parent Account/OpCo models, utility or regulated-market data, or complex B2B account structures. Experience designing versioned weekly status models, account-health rollups, lifecycle/launch controls, or historical pipeline snapshots. Experience with Jira or Asana integration architecture, even though integration build is deferred from the initial project SOW. Experience with Salesforce AI, Agentforce, Gemini integration patterns, or governed AI enablement, even though AI delivery is deferred from the initial project SOW. Experience integrating Salesforce with business systems such as Databricks, Outreach, ZoomInfo, Ironclad, Slack, middleware, or data platforms. Experience collaborating with distributed North America and India teams and supporting time-sensitive production cutovers. Interest in energy technology, utility software, climate solutions, or Uplight’s mission. At a GlanceWork ModeRemoteEmploymentFull-timeExperience8–10 yrsOpenings1DeadlineOct 30, 2026[ Hiring process ]What to expectFour stages, typically completed within 2–3 weeks.
