Job summary

Diversified is seeking a skilled estimator/engineer to develop engineered solutions and supporting documentation for quotations and tenders. You will collaborate with the Estimating and Sales team to deliver accurate BOMs that meet specifications, are value-engineered, and submitted on time to sustain our project reputation.

As part of this role, you will provide technical design support, review tender documents, assist with cable take-offs for large projects, and coordinate design schematics

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Qualifications in audio visual, media or business preferred.
• Existing AV system knowledge essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to sales/estimating with system design knowledge.

Position Summary

You will be responsible for, but not limited to, the development and preparation of an engineered solution and supporting documentation for all quotations and tender responses. You will be working within the Estimating and Sales team to ensure our submissions provide an accurate bill of materials to meet the specification requirements, are ‘value’ engineered and delivered on a timely basis to ensure the ongoing success and reputation of our company.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to the sales / estimating department with system design and product functionality knowledge.
• Provide technical engineering for designs ensuring specified / required functionality and quality is catered for, including and necessary re-engineering of existing client systems to achieve this requirement.
• Reviewing and assessing specifications and drawings for the preparation of quotations and tenders.
• Assist in Cable take offs and measurements for large projects.
• Illustrate Design Schematics for “Internal” purposes. (Hand Sketches)
• Coordinate Illustrated High Level Design Schematics for “External” quotation / tender submissions, as required in an appropriate drawing program (Visio, CAD, PowerPoint etc).
• Providing clarification on technical concerns and tender technical schedules, liaise with Consultants and Builders if required.
• Respond to Estimators technical questions in relation to design, BOM, Support documentation and Submission.
• Attend mandatory and Adhoc site inspections for the preparation of responses.
• Ensure timely delivery of design.
• Assist in the preparation of other / general supporting documentation for quotation and tender responses.
• Liaise with Tender Coordinator, reviewing all National Pre-Engineering, Estimating Support and Submission Guidance requirements.
• Other duties as required.

Skills/Experience Required

• Strong attention to detail
• The ability to meet deadlines and prioritise tasks
• Qualifications in audio visual, media or business preferred
• Existing AV system knowledge essential
• Good computer skills with knowledge of both Word and Excel
• Professional standard of customer service
• Positive & cooperative attitude towards the tasks, management and team members.
• Attend new product / technology training courses as they become available / necessary.
• Attend monthly engineering meetings (External to Sale Dept.)
• Flexibility with availability in order to meet deadlines.
