Who we're Looking For:
B.Tech orB.Sc. in Chemistry/Coatings/Polymers/Material Science & MBA preferred
- Proven experience in the surfactants for Industrial applications particularly in technical sales or business development within specialty chemicals, surfactants, coatings, construction chemicals, adhesives, plastics, electronics, or related industrial segments.
- Ability to learn product and process technologies and provide technical support to customers
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively
- Strong ability to translate customer technical requirements into suitable product recommendations and value propositions.
- Experience handling key accounts, distributors, OEMs, formulators, or large industrial customers.
- Good understanding of customer buying processes, pricing discussions, tender/commercial negotiations, and value-based selling.
- Familiarity with CRM systems, sales reporting tools, and structured opportunity pipeline management.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage stakeholders across R&D, procurement, production, quality, and senior management.
- Willingness to travel extensively across assigned territories to meet customers, attend trials, and support business development activities.
- Knowledge of sustainability trends, bio-based ingredients, low-VOC formulations, and regulatory expectations would be an added advantage.
What You’ll Be Doing:

- Manage and develop customer relationships within paints, coatings, and industrial/specialty chemical companies in India.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities while supporting growth with existing accounts.
- Own sales growth, margin improvement, and customer development plans for the assigned territory or customer segment.
- Build and maintain a strong opportunity pipeline through prospecting, customer visits, market mapping, and regular follow-up.
- Understand customer formulation challenges and provide technical support by coordinating with internal technical teams to recommend suitable Croda solutions.
- Drive product trials, sampling, technical discussions, and product development projects with customers to convert opportunities into commercial sales.
- Prepare account plans for strategic customers and review progress against sales targets, project milestones, and forecast accuracy.
- Monitor competitor activity, pricing trends, market movements, and emerging application opportunities to support market intelligence.
- Work closely with supply chain, customer service, finance, regulatory, and technical teams to ensure seamless execution from order receipt through to cash collection.
- Ensure customer concerns and complaints are resolved promptly through the appropriate systems and communicate outcomes effectively.
- Support price negotiations, contract discussions, credit follow-ups, and payment collection where required.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, project updates, sales forecasts, and commercial opportunities in CRM.
- Promote new and existing products through customer engagement, impactful product presentations, commercial proposals, exhibitions, seminars, and marketing initiatives.
- Contribute to new product launch plans by identifying target customers, application areas, and commercial positioning.
- Work independently to achieve sales targets and business objectives while ensuring all activities align with Croda's values, compliance standards, safety expectations, and sustainability goals.
