Job summary

V S International is seeking an experienced EHS professional to oversee environment, health and safety on site in India. The role focuses on implementing policies, coordinating audits, training staff, and ensuring compliance with cGMP and regulatory standards.

The candidate will conduct safety inspections, manage incident investigations, liaise with local authorities, and drive continuous improvement through CAPA and documentation in the EHS department.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain Emergency Equipment; conduct mock drills on site.
  • Monitor ETP plant and hazardous waste area analysis and handling.
  • Monitor ambient air quality, noise, and effluent from treatment.
  • Administer first aid and arrange medical assistance when needed.
  • Inspect PPE, portable electrical equipment, cutting tools, and power tools.
  • Arrange MPCB/CPCB vendor authorization for hazardous waste transport/destruction.
  • Implement corporate EHS policy and guidelines with line managers.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory and organizational requirements.
  • Monitor work practices and permit system for safe site work.
  • Perform daily site rounds to observe unsafe acts/conditions.
  • Liaise with local government bodies (fire, hospitals, police).
  • Submit periodic returns to MPCB, MWML, etc.
  • Organize shop floor and classroom training on EHS for employees.
  • Prepare EHS documents and monthly progress reports.
  • Advise on measures to prevent accidents and investigate incidents.
  • Assist area owner in procuring safety equipment.
  • Participate in audits and maintain evidence and documents.
  • Participate in periodic safety audits of contractors; CAPA tracking.
  • Engage in EHS promotional activities (Safety Week, etc.).
  • Adhere to and comply with cGMP.
  • Ensure QMS requirements are met.

Job description

Role & responsibilities
  • 1. Monitor and maintain Emergency Equipment (fire extinguisher system, Fire alarm system, Spill kits, SCBA, etc.) Conduct Mock-drill at site.
  • 2. Monitoring of ETP Plant and Hazardous waste area for analysis of effluent,efficiency of ETP process and hazardous waste storage and Handling respectively.
  • 3. Periodically Monitor and maintain Ambient Air Quality (AAQ) Monitoring, Noise. Monitoring,Treated and Untreated Effluent water from External agencies.
  • 4. Administer first aid to injured person and arrange to send for medical assistance as and when required.
  • 5. Participate in periodic inspection of PPE, Portable Electrical Equipment, Cutting Tools, Power Tools, etc.
  • 6. Arrangement of Authorize Vendor from MPCB/CPCB for Transportation and destruction of Hazardous waste.
  • 7. Implementation of Corporate EHS Policy and Corporate EHS Guideline with the help of line managers.
  • 8. To comply and Maintain Statutory and Organization requirements.
  • 9. Monitoring of working practices and work permit system for safe working at site.
  • 10. Daily site round to observe and record unsafe act/condition.
  • 11. Liaison with Local government bodies (Fire Brigade, Government Hospitals, Police,etc.)
  • 12. Periodic submission of returns to the government bodies like MPCB, MWML, etc.
  • 13. Organize shop floor and class room training on environment, health and safety to on site company employees and contract employees.
  • 14. Preparation of draft documents related to EHS department, submission of Monthly Progress Report of EHS to Corporate EHS.
  • 15. Advice effective measures to prevent accident/incident and help in accident / incident investigation including near miss.
  • 16. Advice area owner in procurement of safety equipment.
  • 17. Participate in internal as well as external audit, collection of Evidences, Maintain Documents.
  • 18. Participate in Periodic safety audit of contractors. Its report preparation, maintenance and checking of CAPA and its effectiveness taken by contractor/site supervision.
  • 19. Active Participation into EHS promotional activities like National Safety Week, World Environment Day, National Road Safety Week, Safety/Environment Exhibitions, Training.
  • 20. Adherence and compliance to cGMP.
  • 21. Ensure to comply the requirements of Quality Management System (QMS).
