Job summary

Synechron is hiring an RPGLE Support Engineer to join our Bangalore/Pune/Gurgaon delivery centers. The role focuses on providing production support and enhancements for IBM i (AS/400) applications written in RPGLE.

You will troubleshoot issues, deploy fixes, monitor batch jobs, and coordinate with business users and development teams to resolve incidents. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of hands-on RPGLE/CLLE/DB2 experience, strong SQL skills, and solid knowledge of IBM iSeries environments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with RPGLE, CLLE, and DB2/400.
• Experience in IBM iSeries (AS/400) environments.
• Strong debugging, incident management, and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with batch job monitoring and production support processes.

Responsibilities

• Provide production support and maintenance for IBM i (AS/400) applications developed in RPGLE.
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve application issues, incidents, and service requests.
• Perform code fixes, enhancements, and deployments in RPGLE, CLLE, and DB2 environments.
• Monitor batch jobs, interfaces, and system performance.
• Coordinate with business users and development teams for issue resolution.
• Participate in root cause analysis and implement preventive measures.
• Maintain technical documentation and support procedures.

• Good understanding of SQL queries and database concepts.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem‑solving skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Change Management and ServiceNow.
• Knowledge of banking, payments, insurance, or retail domains.
