Job summary

Wipro in India is seeking an experienced Networking Specialist with 6+ years in routing and switching to drive large-scale data-driven projects. The role requires strong TCP/IP, BGP/OSPF, and multi-vendor platform knowledge, with hands-on Python scripting.

You will participate in 24/7 rotational shifts with a hybrid work model, handle incident patterns, implement automation, and provide on-call support as needed across OCI strategic customers and other regions.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of relevant experience in networking technologies and large-scale data-driven projects.
• Deep knowledge of TCP/IP, packet sniffers and packet flow.
• Hands-on experience with BGP/OSPF and various Networking OS (EOS, IOS, IOS-XR, NX-OS, JUNOS).
• Experience on Cisco/Juniper/Arista platforms and MPLS/L3 VPNs.

Responsibilities

• Identify incident patterns and drive problem resolution.
• Drive automation and tooling to scale networking services.
• Perform root cause analysis of service interruptions and contribute to prevention.

• 6+ years of relevant experience in networking technologies, especially in driving large-scale, data-driven projects.


• In-depth experience with TCP/IP, packet sniffers and packet flow.


• Basic knowledge in Python scripting.


• In-depth and working knowledge of BGP and OSPF.


• Experience with the following technologies: Routing & Switching


• Strong working experience on Cisco / Juniper / Arista platforms.


• Experience with Networking OS, such as EOS, IOS, IOS-XR, NXOS, JUNOS etc..


• Understanding of MPLS, L3 VPNs and VRFs, STP, HSRP, CDP, UDLD etc...


• Good knowledge in fundamentals of networking.


• Firmware Upgrades, critical for mitigating network operational risks for OCI strategic customers and other commercial regions’ customers.


• Config Refreshes; it's critical for unblocking new revenue/capacity and bringing devices to a managed state. Supporting operational tickets volume will impact on our ability to respond to critical customers incidents. Resources will use automation to complete work and develop scripts for routine tasks


• Using existing procedures and tooling to develop and safely complete network changes.


• Participating in operational rotations providing break-fix support.


• Identifying actionable incidents using monitoring systems, with strong analytical problem-solving skills to mitigate network events/incidents.


• Following up on routine root cause analysis (RCA), coordinating with support teams and vendors.


• Providing on-call support services as needed, with varied and complex job duties requiring independent judgment (including nights, weekends, and holidays)

Responsibilities:
