Job Description
As a ROS Intern, you will contribute to the development, integration, and testing of ROS 2-based systems, working closely with our robotics engineering team. This role will provide hands‑on experience in building and deploying robotics solutions while working with cutting‑edge technologies in the robotics domain.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain ROS 2 nodes using C++ and/or Python
- Work with ROS 2 communication paradigms, including topics, services, actions, parameters, and lifecycle nodes
- Integrate and test robot sensors (e.g., LiDAR, camera, IMU, encoders) into the robotic system
- Assist in robot motion control using controllers and feedback loops to improve performance
- Support navigation and localization pipelines, including tools like Nav2 and concepts like SLAM
- Debug and analyze system behavior using RViz, rqt, ros2 CLI tools, and logs
- Contribute to simulation workflows using Gazebo / Ignition for testing and validation
- Document code, system behavior, and experimental results clearly to facilitate collaboration
Requirements
- Strong understanding of ROS 2 and its communication paradigms
- Proficiency in C++ and/or Python
- Familiarity with robot sensors such as LiDAR, cameras, IMU, and encoders
- Basic understanding of navigation, localization, and control concepts (e.g., Nav2, SLAM)
- Experience with debugging and analyzing systems using RViz, rqt, ros2 CLI tools, and logs
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and communicate effectively
- Familiarity with simulation tools like Gazebo / Ignition is a plus
- Self‑motivated with a passion for robotics and problem‑solving
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with robotic systems, particularly in the context of motion control and sensor integration
- Knowledge of control theory, kinematics, or path planning
