Job description

About the Role

We are looking for a Robotics Engineer – UAV Autonomy & Perception to work on the core autonomy stack for our aerial platforms, especially WASP.

This role will involve computer vision, localisation, state estimation, UAV navigation, sensor integration, field testing and real-world debugging. You will work closely with the CTO and founding team on autonomy features that need to operate reliably on embedded compute platforms in outdoor environments.

This is a high-impact engineering role for someone who wants to build robotic systems that actually fly in the real world.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and improve autonomy modules for UAV navigation and perception.
  • Work on visual odometry, localisation, mapping, sensor fusion and perception pipelines.
  • Support WASP maturity from prototype to commercial-ready product.
  • Integrate perception and navigation modules with flight control systems.
  • Work with cameras, IMUs, autopilots, onboard compute and field data.
  • Analyse flight logs, perception failures and field test results.
  • Build tools for simulation, replay testing, data analysis and debugging.
  • Optimise algorithms for embedded platforms such as NVIDIA Jetson.
  • Support field testing, validation and iterative product improvements.
  • Work closely with GCS, embedded, mechanical, hardware and operations teams.
  • Document technical modules, assumptions, test procedures and known limitations.
Requirements
  • 3–5 years of experience in robotics, UAVs, mobile robotics, computer vision or autonomous systems. Exceptional freshers with strong projects may also be considered.
  • Strong programming skills in C++ and/or Python.
  • Experience with ROS.
  • Understanding of localisation, visual odometry, SLAM, sensor fusion or state estimation.
  • Experience working with real sensor data.
  • Comfort with debugging real-world robotic systems.
  • Strong fundamentals in geometry, linear algebra and estimation.
  • Ability to work across software, hardware and field testing.
Good to Have
  • Experience with UAVs, ArduPilot, PX4 or MAVLink.
  • Experience with OpenCV, CUDA, VPI, GStreamer or camera pipelines.
  • Experience with NVIDIA Jetson platforms.
  • Experience with stereo depth, multi-camera systems or visual-inertial systems.
  • Experience with EKF-based state estimation, path planning, obstacle avoidance or terrain following.
  • Experience in field robotics, outdoor robots or autonomous vehicles.
  • Familiarity with flight testing and safety procedures.
Who Will Succeed in This Role

You will do well if you are technically strong, hands-on and not afraid of field failures. We are looking for someone who can move from theory to implementation to test flights to debugging — and repeat that cycle until the system works reliably. This is a role for builders, not just researchers.
