Job summary

Skild AI is seeking a Robotics Engineer specializing in Deployment & Testing to advance our high‑level software and robot products. You will design automated tests and the ecosystems they run in, and shape quality standards while accelerating development.

You will define regression tests, organize test plans, debug complex failures, and ensure robots are deployment ready. Collaboration with researchers and ML engineers is essential to deliver reliable, production‑grade robotic systems.

Qualifications

• BS, MS or higher in Computer Science, Robotics, Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proficiency in low-level languages: C, C++, Rust, or Go, and Python.
• Experience with real-time embedded systems and complex software.
• Experience with Test Management and Requirements software.
• Experience with ROS/ROS2 or other robotics middleware.
• Previous work experience as a Test Engineer.
• Experience deploying software on real robots.
• Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, and system design.
• Familiarity with ML deployment in robotics.

Responsibilities

• Define, implement, and maintain comprehensive regression tests for Skild AI’s software and products.
• Design and organize test plans according to priority, impact, risk, and feasibility.
• Debug and troubleshoot failures in complex scenarios while testing and/or deployment at customer sites.
• Maintain robots and ensure they are deployment ready.
• Recreate corner cases from production logs into repeatable tests.
• Collaborate closely with robotic software developers and machine learning engineers and provide feedback on what needs to be improved to produce and sustain a top‑quality product that meets customer expectations.

You will design and implement automated software tests and the ecosystems in which they run. As a critical member of the robotics team, you will have an important role in defining the quality standards of our software while accelerating its development.

• Experience with complex software systems working in real‑time with embedded systems.
• Experience with Test Management and Requirements software.
• Experience with ROS/ROS2 or other robotics middleware platforms.
• Previous work experience as a Test Engineer.
• Prior experience developing and deploying software on real robots.
• Deep understanding and practical experience with software engineering principles, including algorithms, data structures, and system design.
• Familiarity with machine learning integration and deployment in robotic systems.
