Qualifications

  • Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Risk Management, Engineering or related field.
  • At least 5 years in HSE, operational risk management or risk governance in a complex industrial setting.
  • Experience handling high-consequence risks including chemical management and process safety.
  • Formal qualifications or certifications in chemical management or occupational hygiene are highly regarded.
  • Experience developing or maintaining HSE standards, procedures, or risk controls.

Global HSE Systems & Risk

Global HSE Systems & Risk is Vestas' global center of expertise for HSE governance, critical risk management, management systems, compliance, organizational learning, analytics and digital enablement. We partner with leaders across the business to strengthen critical risk controls, drive continuous improvement, ensure regulatory and management system compliance, and leverage data-driven insights to improve HSE performance globally

Responsibilities
  • Support the development and continual improvement of Vestas' global critical risk framework by providing specialist expertise in risk management, control effectiveness and operational risk governance
  • You will analyze risk and performance data, support risk reviews and assurance activities, contribute to the development of standards and operational requirements, and work closely with stakeholders to identify improvement opportunities, build business cases and strengthen critical risk controls across a global organization
Qualifications
  • Degree qualification in Occupational Health & Safety, Risk Management, Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Occupational Hygiene or a related discipline
  • 5 years of Experience in HSE, operational risk management, critical risk programs, assurance, or risk governance within a complex industrial environment
  • Demonstrated experience in the management of high-consequence risks, including chemical management, hazardous substances, process safety, occupational hygiene, dangerous goods or related risk disciplines
  • Formal qualifications, certifications or specialist experience in chemical management, occupational hygiene, hazardous materials, process safety, chemical engineering or a related field will be highly regarded
  • Experience developing, implementing or maintaining HSE standards, procedures, operational requirements, or risk controls
  • Working knowledge of critical risk management principles, control effectiveness, assurance processes and risk-based decision making
  • Knowledge of ISO management systems, governance frameworks and regulatory requirements is desirable
  • Experience in renewable energy, construction, utilities, manufacturing, chemical processing, mining, oil & gas, logistics or other high-risk industries is advantageous

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex risk issues and identify practical improvement opportunities
  • Ability to develop evidence-based recommendations and contribute to business cases that support risk reduction and operational improvement initiatives
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build relationships, influence outcomes, and gain buy-in across diverse functions and levels of the organization
  • Ability to interpret performance data, assurance findings, incidents and industry insights to identify emerging risks and improvement opportunities
  • Effective communication skills, including the ability to simplify complex technical concepts for a broad range of stakeholders
  • Ability to work collaboratively across global teams and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on learning, innovation and operational excellence
  • Ability to influence without authority and contribute to strategic risk reduction initiatives across a global organization
