Position Overview and Job Description
We are seeking an experienced RF Power Amplifier Design Manager to join our engineering team. This is a critical role responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing high-performance RF Power Amplifiers, primarily for Aerospace and defense applications. The successful candidate will lead complex technical projects, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to cutting‑edge technologies.
Key Responsibilities Design and Development
- Design and develop RF power amplifier circuits and systems for defense applications including Radar, Electronic Warfare, Satellite Communications, and Avionics covering the frequency range from 1 MHz to 40 GHz.
- Hands‑on Design experience in Pulsed and CW high power amplifiers up to 4 kW, including high power combining techniques.
- Proficient with simulations and analysis using industry‑standard software tools (ADS, HFSS, AWR, Cadence, etc.).
- Conversant with state of the art RF PA architectures and topologies, concepts of Load pull analysis, RF power versus efficiency, broadband device impedance matching techniques, lumped/distributed matching techniques.
- Develop schematic designs, layout topologies, RF PCB reviews, and bill of materials for RF power amplifier modules.
- Execute comprehensive electromagnetic (EM) simulations and validate designs through prototypes through lab qualifications for MIL‑STD‑461E/F.
- Review thermal analysis, structural Analysis, MTBF and failure mode analysis (FMECA).
- Conduct S‑parameter measurements, gain linearity, efficiency, and intermodulation distortion (IMD) testing.
- Document test results, create technical reports, and present findings to project stakeholders.
Project Leadership
- Drive cross‑functional engineering teams on amplifier development projects from concept through production and field trials.
- Manage project schedules and technical resources to meet customer and contractual requirements.
- Serve as a technical liaison between design, manufacturing, quality assurance, and customer teams.
- Participate in design reviews, milestone gates, and technical decision‑making forums.
Mentorship and Knowledge Transfer
- Guide and mentor junior and mid‑level RF engineers in amplifier design techniques and best RF PA design practices.
- Contribute to internal technical documentation, design guidelines, and process improvements.
- Participate in knowledge‑sharing sessions and technical training initiatives.
