Job summary

Quest Global is seeking an Experienced Senior Piping Design Engineer in Bengaluru to lead piping design activities for complex industrial projects. You will produce piping deliverables using advanced 3D modeling software while ensuring compliance with international codes and standards.

The role requires 6 to 12 years of related experience, expertise in Revit, and strong proficiency in AutoCAD and P&ID diagrams.

Qualifications

• 6 to 12 years of related experience in piping design and leadership.
• Expertise in Revit including routing and weldments.
• Familiar with ASME B31.1 and B31.3 piping standards.
• Experience with P&ID diagrams, industrial piping design and layout.
• Familiar with AutoCAD (min. AutoCAD 2014).
• Strong drawing and detailing capabilities.

• Able to learn and use in-house tools and third-party software.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop/review equipment and piping layouts, piping support designs, isometrics, and material take-offs using Revit.
• Guide and supervise 3D modelers in routing, equipment layout, and support detailing.
• Apply ASME B31.3 and B31.1 codes in design activities.
• Participate in 3D model reviews from concept to completion including pipe flexibility concepts.
• Perform pipe support span calculations and conduct 3D model reviews.
• Coordinate complex projects with cross-functional teams across regions.
• Facilitate FD/PID reviews, equipment layout design, and 2D drawing extraction.
• Manage clash detection and resolution while overseeing the Bill of Quantity.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing and site-related technical issues.

Job Requirements

Experienced Senior Piping Design Engineer with 6 to 12 years of experience to lead piping design activities and manage technical teams in complex industrial projects.

The successful candidate will be responsible for producing comprehensive piping deliverables using advanced 3D modeling software while ensuring compliance with international codes and standards.

• Key Responsibilities: Develop/Review Equipment & Piping layouts, Piping Support designs, Isometrics, and Material Take-offs using Revit.
• Guide and supervise 3D Modelers in single-line pipe routing, equipment layout, and support detailing to meet project schedules.
• Apply knowledge of ASME B31.3 Process Piping and B31.1 Power Piping Codes in design activities.
• Participate in 3D model reviews from concept to completion, incorporating pipe flexibility concepts.
• Perform pipe support span calculations and conduct thorough 3D model reviews.
• Coordinate complex projects with cross-functional teams including Project Engineering, Mechanical Design, and E&I Engineering across multiple regions.
• FacilitateFD/PID reviews, equipment layout design, and 2D drawing extraction processes.
• Manage clash detection and resolution while overseeing the Bill of Quantity.
• Troubleshoot complex manufacturing and site-related technical issues.

Work Experience

• Diploma or Engineering degree(Full time) on Mechanical Engineering; 6 to 12 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Expertise in Revit (5 + years), including routing and weldments.
• Familiar with ASME B31.1 and B31.3 piping standards.
• Experience with P&ID diagrams, industrial piping design and layout.
• Familiar with AutoCAD (min. AutoCAD 2014).
• Strong drawing and detailing capabilities.
• Proficient in MS-Office (especially MS Excel).
• Able to learn and use in house tools and 3rd party software.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects within a fast-paced environment
• Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate effectively with the project design team
• Self-motivated as well as team player, can work with minimum supervision
• Excellent communication skills with ability to interface with clients, suppliers, and co-workers.
