Job summary

ISS STOXX is seeking a experienced Revenue Accountant to join the Global Finance Team in Mumbai. You will handle day-to-day and month-end revenue accounting, contracts analysis, and revenue reporting with emphasis on ASC 606 / IFRS 15.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or related field.
• 4+ years of accounting or revenue accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of ASC 606 / IFRS 15.
• Experience with revenue contracts, deferred revenue, and reconciliations.
• Experience with month-end close, journal entries, and GL reconciliations.
• Proficiency in Excel (Pivot, Power Query) and reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Review contracts and orders for proper ASC 606 revenue recognition.
• Support recurring revenue tasks including postings and modifications.
• Investigate exceptions, postponed items, and special transactions.
• Review invoices and customer contracts for revenue accuracy.
• Execute month-end close activities and revenue accruals.
• Prepare reconciliations for revenue-related accounts.
• Analyze revenue fluctuations and produce management reports.
• Collaborate with Sales Ops, Billing, and Collections daily.
• Assist external audits with revenue schedules and docs.
• Develop automated reporting using Power BI, Power Query, and AI tools.
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes through automation.

Overview

ISS STOXX is seeking an experienced and motivated Revenue Accountant to join the Global Finance Team. This role will report directly to the Revenue Manager and be responsible for day-to-day and month-end revenue accounting activities, revenue recognition, contract analysis, reconciliations, and revenue reporting. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Revenue Accounting, strong knowledge of ASC 606 / IFRS 15, and experience working in a multinational environment. In addition, the candidate should have a passion for process improvement, automation, and leveraging tools such as Power BI, AI-assisted solutions, and advanced Excel to enhance reporting and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Review contract, sales orders, and product setups to ensure proper revenue recognition under ASC 606 / IFRS 15.
• Support and monitor recurrent revenue tasks including contract modifications and revenue postings.
• Investigate and resolve exceptions, postponed items, and special transactions.
• Review invoices, credit memos, and customer contracts to ensure accuracy of revenue and deferred revenue balances.
• Perform month-end close activities including revenue accruals, revenue adjustments, and journal entries.
• Prepare reconciliations for revenue, deferred revenue, accounts receivable, contract assets, contract liabilities, and other balance sheet accounts.
• Analyze revenue fluctuations and prepare monthly revenue analytics and management reporting.
• Partner closely with other teams such as Sales Operations, Billing, and Collections on a daily basis.
• Support external audits and provide revenue-related schedules and documentation.
• Develop and improve automated reporting solutions using Power BI, Excel Power Query, Power Automate, AI tools, or similar technologies.
• Identify opportunities to streamline manual processes and improve controls through automation and analytics.
• Support ad hoc projects and management requests as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field.
• 4+ years of relevant accounting or revenue accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of ASC 606 / IFRS 15 revenue recognition principles.
• Experience with revenue contracts, deferred revenue, contract assets, contract liabilities, and revenue reconciliations.
• Experience preparing accruals, journal entries, and month-end close activities.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables, Power Query, Lookups, and data analysis.
• Experience using Power BI, automation tools, AI-enabled solutions, or process-improvement technologies to increase efficiency and reporting capabilities.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with global teams.

Desired Qualifications

• CA, Inter-CA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent qualification
• Hands-on experience with Salesforce and SAP Revenue Accounting & Reporting (RAR).
